I guess the board also felt they owe him a chance at redemption , since they didn't give him all his signing in the summer, which included Bruno.

It has nothing to do with his social activism. He has not looked right ever since he returned from the back injury and i commented on this back then.

He was socially conscious and active before he got injured and he was not doing bad on the pitch. He came back from a serious injury however and his form plummeted sharply. It is not rocket science to connect the dots.
