My phone charges at constant speed but once it hits 90% it begins to add percentages slowly.

Hope this is normal or what could be the reason
It's perfectly normal. The final stages of the charge is meant to strengthen the total charge. Are you using a Xiaomi phone?

Fact is that i took my RN8 to Raya service centre and was told to pay 62k that the screen and panel are bad,the que now is ,is it advisable to pay that amount or just add it 13k and buy a new one for 75k or look for a good phone engineer in abuja that can fix the phone's screen and panel for less than that 62k?

Had the same experience last year with my RN7 i fell into a deep gutter in lekki, phone screen went dark after some hours, took it to Raya in ikeja, after like a month they got back to me saying i need to pay 60+k then when RN7 was being sold for 55k+, that the motherboard is bad, phone wey dey ring. So i went to pick it up and ordered a new screen from AliExpress and phone still kicking till now no problem whatsoever.

Useless service centre

That's why some do advise that users should source for replacement parts and fix their phones rather than going to service centres. Those people are.....

Also,if you know how to loosen phones, disconnect the battery and dry the phone for some time.

I know the screen may never return to normal, but like the previous guy said, you can order for screen and give engineer to fix it when the phone is totally dried up.

Like you said, it's a gamble

Replacement parts are not as readily available as Sammy but we've got plugs on Xiaomi Thread Store that sell parts and outside NL, there are parts sellers too. AliExpress is another store!
Good thing about Xiaomi is, their products are durable. The only problem you're likely to get with the brand is screen ish, which is mostly due to user handling.

Go ahead and join us.

The screen are strong. I manhandle my Redmi A2 lite, but the screen has refused to even scratch not to talk of break from falls.
My current phone is RN7pro, came with gorilla glass 5. It's receiving same manhandling like the A2 lite, but still caca-raca.

Ok, what happens when you hold both power button and volume down? Does it take you to fastboot mode? Does the screen even display anything at all? It's possible this is a problem with your screen.
Just blank.
