Peugeot is one of the most durable cars ever if not the most durable. We have a 307 that has being running well for over a decade now. The interesting is, na normal heavy mineral engine oil and Abro transmission oil e dey drink for the PAS.

But, service regularly, get a personal scanner. when you run into problem, scan, get the code, browse what it means( most fault you can fix by urself) if you can't, tell mechanic wetin he go fix.

Don't make the mistake of changing engine or transmission when you only need like 2k to fix things

Hello house.I have a 307 Peugeot that is experiencing hesitation.When I step on the throttle it does not respond immediately untill after a while it will now reve and move normally.This does not happen all the time but with all the gears.What could be the issue.
Please advise,I want to purchase a universal scanner,CRP129.Will this do a good job on the peugeot compared to PP2000?

I took a D2 with 2.2i EW12J4 Stick-Shift for a short fun drive few hours ago and was reminded of another fun car Peugeot created. The short gear ratios of the 6-speed Stick-Shift box enhance the exhilarating fun drive experience on quicker response on hot acceleration of the EW12 and matched aggressive downshifts. All these took place without the accelerator pedal ever going below halfway to the floor. Even with the heavy weight of 407, the engine and transmission was pulling the car like a small hot hatch with 180hp powertrain.

I got back home and kept wondering what's with the "Dem say - Dem say EW12 na wahala" with Nigerians? In as much as EW12J4 has it's annoying sides just like every Engine does, the smiles and positives it brings outweighs whatever occassional sad face attached to the ownership.

If you enjoy driving, your options are limited. What you choose to do with it is up to you.

Dear ikenna351, i owned a peugeot 406 EW10j4 with automatic transmission, i want to change the transmission oil. what is the PSA recommended ATF? and where can i get it here in Nigeria? and if it cant be sourced locally is there any alternative?. thanks and best regards.

Yap, if the car is clean and you take care of ur car really well, nothing to fear. 407 even get the supposedly superior AM6 transmission.

Boss, I have followed your overwhelming bias for Peugeot a.k.a the Lion King � for about 7years now. At this point I have ready to ditch my Toyota Camry 2004 alias Big for Nothing� for an intercourse with one of these Lions. My preference is the 406. However, I am not a manual transmission person. Secondly, I am not sure I can afford a foreign used. So I am looking at a Nigerian used Lion with an automatic transmission. Your advice and guidance will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I bought a peugeot 307, with a dissel engine, changed it to fuel, until it finally raised after 3brainboxes. As it stands now, it doesn't engage reverse. Hence I wan sell am.

AL4 auto tranny fitted in peugeot 406,206,307 are not really problematic as people make them look like, if you can get the right ATF (Esso LT71141, esso is now mobil). then you wont have any issue with the tranny except otherwise if uou abuse it due to driving habit. now the tricky part is the recommended ATF isnt readily available in the country then what ATF should you use? the answer is there is NO substitute for ESSO/MoBiL LT71141, but people have tried oando DEXRON II, and its perfect, northerners use Visco 2000 engine oil in AL4 trannys and they work wonders, its funny but TRUE.

I dissagree, even in foreign forums you see people complain about the AL4 transmission. I think there's a different transmission fitted with the V6 engine, which is likely to give issues unlike its i4 counterpart.

it Carries same AL4 transmission but I read an article where ikenna said liquimoly transmission oil works perfectly for it. my next car would be a 407 and its gonna be an auto trans.
