Hi guys , please I need your help ... I have 300k and I want to start the foundation/building if my house on a dry land ,and a plot of land.. please how far can this go , what and what can I start with
I plan to build a 4bedroom bungalow with a ante room and for 2years
How many blocks , cement and all can I start with
Thanks

Unfortunately in this current climate you won’t get far but you can at least get started and motivated.

You’re looking at N1.6M to get to this level. It’s a 2 bedroom plus 1 bedroom flat joined together. I think I can finish it moderately for another N2M.

Just trying to show you a real life exercise instead of theory.

Good luck.

300k won’t go far.

Save up to 700k and you can push the work to a considerate level. At least get off ground. Or make deposit for blocks while saving up more money.

You’ll need:

1. 1200 blocks
2. 80 bags of cement (blinding, block setting & DPC)
3. 30 tons of granite
4. Sand etc

This is the quagmire that I’m in.

I’ve been pouring over anti burglary designs on Pinterest. I haven’t come up with an ideal design yet that meets security and aesthetics.

So the only few home invasion robberies in my vicinity threw me for a loop.

The anti burglary bars were removed in seconds by the thieves and the imported dogs were swiftly put in a comatose situation. So what are we now talking about again sad

I truly wish for liberal gun laws and castle doctrine in Nigeria.

There are great designs here but the price.

Price starts from #600k cry

Based on best practices that I’ve observed from the builders on here, a resounding yes.

Now, I’ve seen some without it around town. I’ll personally not build without a monolithic floor.

Good luck on your project.

PS: Pour over your plan carefully and remove any wastefulness. This is not going to be your only house Insha Allah so try not to put every want in it. You’ll be renting this out in the future and build your dream house. For now build a safe compact house.

Thank you very much. It is located in Ibeju/Lekki. I have decided to forgo parapet. I don't think the aesthetic value for a parapet is worth its cost over a million naira

That is why I like all your thought-out concept.
When it is finished, you may like to keep it with the Duplex.
God shall provide. Thanks.

You’re right Hajj.

I look at my neighborhood and I see edifices that puts mine to shame and I’m starting to think I might not be seeing the big picture.

Is it advisable to collect a house in this kind of condition... Its a new building and has very nice qualities(Good houses are not much here based on the environment .. the town is just developing)... But the dampness is making me worried... I looked at all the houses in the area tho.. they are all damp.. is it normal? will it pose a threat in future cos I plan to live there for 2 years

It's good you have decided to want to build.
Do this with your money as start up if the land is easily accessible with vehicle and you land is within a secured environment.
Start by moulding blocks on your land. Look at 2000 blocks for a start.
Look for a source of water.

the damp area would affect the paint, apart from that, if that wouldn't be a big deal to you, then you can fire on

It is not the actual Moderator banning you, it is what we call Spambot. It's a software robot that looks for a particular word in a post and see if it is accepted or not, when not accepted, it bans you. I am not sure how the compile their database of words but it is very lousy.
So the Moderator is actually your friend but the Spambot is not. Hope you understood the concept... Thanks.
