Good day guys, pls I need help on behalf of my brother who is in Germany. He got married last year and he's trying to carry his wife over there but the language thing seems to be a challenge. She's in Edo state and it appears there's no Goethe institute there. Can this German language be learnt online and maybe she can then travel to Lagos for the exam? Pls anybody with useful info shld help in order to facilitate the process

Yes. Goethe currently runs exclusively online programmes due to the pandemic. Even before the pandemic, they had the online option. Check out their website

I'm very comfortable at A2 now plus I have taken and passed many B2 online tests. I can tutor her to A1-A2 level and give her materials and tips that can help her get a solid foundation for her to be able to learn on her own. And then provide her frequent support if needed as she progresses. This is more advisable before she invests heavily on online classes that one would need constant internet and power for... plus needing to rely on her own ability to learn independently with online classes without tutor support. I heard something of recent. Someone told me that a student can enter Germany claiming he's there just for visiting purposes and once he's in Germany he can go to his school and change the Visiting Visa to a Student Visa.

Wanna ask if that's possible?

And also if there's anything like a Visiting Visa as regards travelling to Germany?

All the people still waiting for visa appointment should start language course while waiting.

I never took this advice to learn anything during my time of visa pursuit, and I just managed to finish A1 now because I was too busy studying and making money within the one year I have been here and my target is B2 before graduating.

My point is that it's usually not easy to learn the language here when you have courses on your head and you need to make lots of money to balance financially.
So now that you have the opportunity, it's advisable you utilize it and atleast finish your A2 before coming here.

I am sure you must have heard of the importance of Deutsch language here so no need to stress much on it
