Good evening Folks,
Please pardon my naivety, what is BVL/Correspondence Letter?
Please, explain to me. Thanks |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Chocs(f): 6:06pm On Oct 17, 2020 |
Hello Grace001 Adding to what @silvamania said, this amount is insufficient. Your friend needs to show at least 30,100 cad (20,100 cad + 10,000 cad) And it should not be exact, some more money should be left after deducting this sum. And if he/she is self-sponsored, the visa officer might want to check how he/she will pay for subsequent years. Best wishes Grace001: Please house...A friend of mine would like to know if 7.5m Naira will be enough for a statement of account to process a Canadian student visa (2 years msc program)

Hello Dovelove543 BVL is Biometrics Validity Letter. When you get this letter, it means a decision has been made on your application and the decision would be corresponded soon (refusal or approval) Best wishes Dovelove543: Good evening Folks,

BVL means Biometrics Validation Letter...but it is usually sent to an applicant after a decision had been made on his/her application. Once you get a BVL, expect a refusal letter/correspondence or a Passport Request letter/correspondence within 24 hours Nice weekend Dovelove543: Good evening Folks,

Congratulations bro. It is great to hear this. All the best! TimAke: Okay here we go First off, I appreciate everyone on here who give their time and effort to assist and painstakingly answer questions. Special shout out to Frankrobbin and fratermathy for some crucial answers they gave to my doubts that spurred me to take key actions at critical points. At last PPR in the mail. Please find details below:
First time applicant applied from Estonia VAC: Warsaw University: University of Regina Programme: PhD Public Policy Started online classes already
Timeline Date Applied: June 18 Biometrics Request: June 19 Biometrics Given: June 24 AIP: August 11 Upfront Medical: August 26 Medical Updated Passed: September 24 BVL/Correspondence Letter: October 15 Passport Request (PPR): October 17
Documents Submitted All necessary IMM forms Letter of Acceptance MSc degree certificate and transcript BSc degree certificate and transcript Copies of travel stamps, visas and conference certificates to show travel history. Letter of Introduction All documents arranged and merged in one pdf Letter of EE pool withdrawal (been in the pool for ages with no hope anyways lol)
Statement of Purpose: I detailed my education and professional background linked it as much as I could to my programme. I will be researching on public service digitalization, so had to talk about my passion for a digitalized public service and how I was coming back to Naija to help with this.
Home Ties: I have nothing yet in Naija except my family, so had to build on that, let them know my mum was widowed and I am the oldest so I definitely had to come back for them. Added my naija pension fund statement too.
Proof of Fund: I was self-sponsored with savings equivalent to about N5m. Showed bank statement.
University Funding Letter of 10k CAD
My Estonian Pension statement
Letter from my supervisor explaining I would have a TA position and stated the monthly pay.
Not sure if I covered everything but feel free to mention of you need some clarification or questions.
For everyone still waiting, I believe the coming week will come with lots of news like mine especially as October 20 is here already. For those who have been rejected, please keep the hope, keep asking questions and do the right thing. It will work out in the end. Peace 1 Like |

We expect IRCC to publish list of DLIs with approved Covid19 readiness plans for their students especially international students. Students for those schools can start making travel plans from that date. adeenzo: Hello nairalanders. TimAke, congratulations on your PPR. May Gods favor and grace shine on the rest of us. Hello all Please I intend to apply for a thesis-based masters program in Canada, but for my intended course most of the schools I’ve searched don’t require securing a supervisor prior to applying. Given this information Is it still necessary to contact faculty members? Because I see a lot of people doing this. Please kindly advise. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Chocs(f): 3:26am On Oct 18, 2020 |
Hello Queenmama03 If the course/ school is the type that gives everyone their prospective supervisors automatically then you can apply without contacting. But if it is the type that says a supervisor must eventually accept you before you can be admitted, then please make contact with supervisors and try to secure someone except you don’t mind the application fees going to waste if something goes wrong. You can read the admission requirements and see if it’s stated there. It usually is. If it’s not, you can send the program an email to inquire. Best wishes Queenmama03: Hello all Please I intend to apply for a thesis-based masters program in Canada, but for my intended course most of the schools I’ve searched don’t require securing a supervisor prior to applying.
