The protesters, after gaining entrance into the prison through the fence freed inmates in the prisons along Benin Sapele Road, near Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ office.
The extent of damage cannot be ascertained at the moment but report indicates that the protesters carted away arms and ammunition from the armoury and freed the suspects in custody before setting some of the facilities ablaze.

Those are the questions you should ask yourself, the Benin prison is well secured that you might book yourself a room if you're found loitering around the outside environment.. the simple answer is the government is empowering thugs and hooligans. The thugs didn't break into the prison. The prisoners were released illegally by authorities to pin it on the protesters.

It boils down to if the people will obey the curfew or not. Wike was disobeyed in Rivers. FCT minister was disobeyed and even blocked from getting to the airport for international flight. A leader derives power from the ability of the people to obey. They cannot kill everyone.
