How come you didnt come with enough cash in pound to settle at least one month or two worth of rent and running around

Might be best you list how much pound you want... so whosoever is ready to exchange knows what they are working towards

Hello house please I need advice, for my sister who wants to apply for settlement. She applied for her transcript and certificate last year September in her university and she got all the the letters to submit to Naric, the letters were dated last year steptember. Due to some circumstances, she could not submit . Now she wants to apply and we are confused if we should use the letter dated last year or request for another one from the school ( but I don't know if the school will agree to give her another one). Kindly advise if one can use dates that is now one year to apply. Thank you

What letters please?

I know someone who used a scan copy of their BSc transcript issued in 2011 and was successfully assessed by NARIC.
Shed more light on your question, and you may be helped.

How urgently do you need this .... moneyfex website is down for upgrade till oct 30 or reach out to mamatukwas for pound to naira exchange

I used to use world remit but their rates are so low

Thanks for the input. Should have clarified currency as being USD. I'll probably keep an eye out for moneyfex in that case.
Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by ifegy: 6:01pm On Oct 19, 2020
Mamatukwas:

I’ve heard people mention Azimo, World remit and Moneyfex. There are also private individuals like Myself who you pay £ to for Naira to be directly paid into your account in Nigeria.

Il be happy to help. Cheers.

Sorry, should have clarified currency as being USD. I'll probably take a look at that online options in that case.

I am not in the UK and I have seen people respond to this question previously, some suggest worldremit, I observed that their exchange rate is 495 naira to 1 pound meanwhile on abokifx it's 1 pound is from 585 to 595

The difference is much

It got me thinking and I want to ask can't you guys use cryptocurrency option?

Buy any cryptocurrency in the UK, sell it on any cryptocurrency p2p companies operating in Nigeria, get your naija account funded, send to anyone u want to send it to.
Exchange rate is close to that of abokifx

Thanks for the idea.

Thank you for your response. I appreciate.

The letter is the one that her university addressed to Naric ""confirmation of English as a medium of instruction"". Find attached the letter. The letter was typed on 8Nov last year and now she wants to apply to Naric with her degree certificate, transcript and the university letter. But the letter was typed around last year Nov. She could not apply last year due to some circumstances. I am now asking if she can still scan the letter to Naric with the date of last year. Will Naric accept it? Thank you

Invitation letter
Account statement
Payslips & offer letter
Passport
Mortgage statement/tenancy contract or council tax bill
Marriage certificate

I stated i was sponsoring her trip and i think it helped that i sent to her account the flight fare to show commitment from my end.
Also do not mention In your letter that reason for inviting her is for child care because that’s a no-no.

All the best

Please do you know of any good health insurance that one can subscribe to if ones mother is visiting to enable her visit the hospital in case she needs prescription or treatment?

Good evening All, pls what’s the best/recommended bank for a student/ dependant. Preferably a bank without much kyc documentation. NatWest is requesting for proof of address ie Bank statement or Utility Bill or Tax. I am staying in an Airbnb and can not provide that.

There’s no implication on her studies that I’m aware of. She should face her studies, when it’s time to drop she drops. No biggie.

When universities are front facing, she would see other ladies, also in the same whatsapp group....... cheesy

The only limitation, is her condition...... What type of pregnancy would she have?.......

Why didnt she plan herself well, to go on a contraceptive or something

However what will happen depends on an individual. If she can do both been pregant and do school as normal then no problem

If she has complications with pregnancy and for example has an extended stay in hospital then such situation becomes tricky with attendance. But now with remote role you can get away with some thing. My colleague sent baby pic last week, absolutely nobody knew she been pregant all this while. However her husband is not working so will take care of the baby full time while she works so little impact

Hope this lady has help .... if she does then it makes it easier as well

If she here alone ...she needs to find some support system here or hopefully make some new friends that can be her support system later on.... because been a super mummy is not an easy job and can become emotionally draining or overwhelmeing if all alone . Although many single mothers do it daily. Kudos to women

At least one less worry. All her medical bills will be covered by NHS so at least she doesnt have to worry about that

It doesn't matter when she got the English language proficiency letter, she will still be issued a NARIC certificate. I got my letter in 2018, B.Sc Certificate in 2014 and I applied for NARIC last month. It was delivered in soft copy within 10days.

She can apply with the letter, no hassle at all

She needs to start arranging for support, her last project will be affected if she is doing masters. She also need the money to buy baby stuff, suitable accommodation for her and the baby

She shouldn’t declare the pregnancy to uni just yet, she shld carry on with her studies. When she’s heavy or nee delivery she can then apply for leave of absence or extenuating circumstance

Hahahahaha she still has the naija university mentality. Please tell her to unlearn everything she learned concerning tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

Here, if her lecturers find out she’s pregnant, they will even be petting her.

No o, if you’re pregnant and it’s a hard pregnancy, she just needs to inform welfare at her uni and they will take care of her well. If she even misses lectures, welfare will write to her department to inform them. If she misses assignment, she can easily get extensions if she presents her hospital letter and letter from welfare.

Nothing will happen to her, except the difficulty of pregnancy if she has no one to take care of her. But school wise, she’s good to go.

I don’t think she should hide it. She should speak to a rep at the student union to ask for advise- make sure it’s not a Nigerian you see o, cos some Nigerians still have their bias.

This is the last thing any UK university will ever do and I cannot see it happening. If it ever happens, it can be viewed as discriminatory and the university in question can be sued to court with thousands of pounds of compensation at stake. I think most universities have support systems in place to give special priviledges to pregnant students.

However, undergoing a Masters degree and raising a child will be very difficult, but not impossible. The rigour involved in raising a baby alone is more than a masters degree project on its own. Good luck to her.

Good afternoon all.

Please, I have some questions, and again it is on passport renewal.

1) For those who applied for passoprt renewal during the lockdown period, after payment did you also have to fill the Biometric Appointment Booking Form. My payment was on August 24th and did not realize I had to fill the form untill yesterday. Will this affect my appointment date?

2) Will there be any form of consequence if a tier 2 holders passport gets renewed some weeks/months after the expiry date (while the BRP is still very valid)?

Many thanks in advance.
