It was around 1 or 2 that boys from Education side started advancing towards Ikoku direction but Police of e-crack stopped them. There was confrontation and gun shots. Before you know it, Ikoku boys started their own. At a point, rumours made rounds that Olu Obasanjo police station have being burned down.

It was during that period that I had that experience with those police men at Kala. If you see the way these guys are aggressive, you will know that they are really angry with all the protests going on. One of them actually cocked his gun and pointed at me from the window. I think that these events in the country of the last few days has created a sense of awakening for the citizens of this country.

I think that a break for restrategy is required at this point. Every protests has an objective request. The protests in its current form lacks this. No one even knows exactly what we're protesting for again. The message has been drowned out by the violence and vandalism.

I do think we need to calm down now, restrategize, get a set of clear objectives and begin again. With the way it's going currently, more unnecessary lives are bound to be lost.

The billboard never goes off. There was COVID-19 lockdown curfew which normally starts 10pm....ask people who stay around that area if the billboard went off during from 10pm during those periods.

Donjazet and IamJ I understand the angle you guys are coming from but in an emotional charged environment common sense is expensive to afford, people have died no doubt but some of the items making the rounds are probably fake and misleading. Those boards have times to go on and off at specific times of the day.

I don't know about Lekki, but the one on 3MB is usually put on around few minutes to 6am, and they go off around 10:45pm(I once worked there)

The aim is to target traffic. If people are not moving at a specific time, there is no point of showing anything. Afterall, clients pay heavily for those few seconds of advert we watch

Also, those boards are run on generators all through. They don't use PHCN because of inconsistencies. So you should expect how many litres of diesel that is burned

The reason those boards were up during the protests is because the company might have figured that the protesters were enough audience to advertise. They don't owe the protesters any debt to switch it on. They can as well switch it off from the beginning.

It's a business enterprise, not a means of electrification
