Last time we protested against bad governance was during our power crisis.
That was 4 or 5 years ago, what has that got to do with Nigeria?

must you always make it a competition?

Like I said, the sanctions against South Africa were partial. The white nations had no heart in it. They all supported the suffering of blacks at the hands of the apartheid regime. South Africa lost some ground economically but the sanctions did not bankrupt South Africa like you claim. This was your minister of finance talking in 1988:

''But we have made the adjustment, we have
repaid the debt and we have run huge current
accounts surpluses,''
Mr. de Kock said. He added
that South Africa reduced its foreign debt to about
$21.5 billion in 1988 from $27.5 billion in 1985.

Ghana trended for the

And u are hear hailing atrocities as your glorified achievement.

This endSars issue is the end of Nigeria as we know it. I have always waited for something like this. Now, the south knows the major problem with Nigeria is the north.
Why are the northern governors against the protests? It's a revolution and youth driven.
Buhari has questions to answer about the deployment of the army.
The status quo can not remain!

No, come on. The endsars protests have gone beyond police brutalities. It's now mainly a move against bad governance, a problem widespread across subsahara Africa. Ghana is not left out. With the massive human and natural resources in both Ghana and Nigeria, do you think we should not be way higher than we are?

Black Africa will be liberated whether the thieves parading as leaders want it or not.
Nigeria already leading the way. Mark this space: It's a matter of time before Ghana and Kenya follow Nigeria's example unless they are comfortable with the way their countries are handled.
Black South Africans too will soon ask for stronger land reforms. They'll listen to Malema. grin They'll grow balls after seeing what Nigeria's youths are doing. wink

I know you and your lies, you make claims and assertions in thin air
The internet is free and whenever we decide to protest again, it will with nothing to do with Nigeria but real issues we may want solutions to.

Your constant attempt to rope us into your issues are the is the validation you require to tag along Ghana to be able to present a a picture of progress to the external world and your citizens.

We dont compete with you because we cant use you guys as a yardstick, Doing so will be an attempt to drag us back to medieval times.

Guy it was your citizens who went on Twitter giving testament of how great policing in Ghana is and how safe they are in Ghana more than their own country Nigeria.

As usual, you guys managed to drag Ghana Police into the conversation of how bad SARS is to make your point.

Next time, dont screw your head over and maybe you will reason proper. grin grin

We are not comfortable with governance here but the system we have here has room for engagement so that issues dont escalate to where END SARS has gotten to.

Because of the Bureaucratic nature of a Federal system, if not run well, Officialdom becomes too far out of touch with realities of the ordinary Nigerian.

Centralize systems have their own disadvantages but the above is not one of them.

Guy, you just live in Ghana with no understanding of things in Ghana.

The last time a real protest was organized in Ghana was in 2014

We had the Yvonne Nelson organized protest
And then, we had the one organized by Concerned Ghanaians for Responsible governance.

Since then, we've only had special interest groups like Law Students protesting against entrance exams, Opposition parties either protesting against Voters Register or the EC and etc.

Okay, we shall see. grin
Remember Kenya too doesn't run a centralized government.. just like Ghana. But look at how Kenya has been mismanaged.. from poverty to slums to starvation while all along the political continue to hold large swathes of land and steal funds including international aid. Proper engagement does not work with these African rulers. The message has to be loud and resounding like what the black South Africans did with sharpeville and what Nigeria is doing now.

One thing about is currently happening is that, you cant resort to that whenever you have and issue with the system and you cant resort to it all the time.

You do this and use the opportunity to reform the system.

The last time Ghana did something similar like that was in the 80s and overtime, we have created channels for issues to be resolved that they dont break down the system..

The Unitary system in Ghana run in such a way that i know where to go when I have an issue. The only problem with it currently is our attempt to decentralize in order to Give more power to Municipal Cheif Executive and District Chief Executive because the constitution lays the development of municipal and district development into their orbit.

The current system does not empower them so we rely on our Members of Parliament for development, which is not their duty.

The same problem here. At times we don't even know the real function the parliamentarians serve. They receive development funds running into billions and nothing to show. I still tell you, Africa is going nowhere if we continue to take it easy with these African rulers. Look at a video footage of any black African country on TV and see what it looks like. Check out the hdi of black African countries. You hardly see any of them beyond 0.5....
Ghana, Nigeria, Tanzania, Kenya are all below 0.6. South Africa is below nonentities like Lebanon and Libya. And yet all these countries continue to be run by very corrupt and brazen leaders because the people are quiet. Check out countries like Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, even Vietnam that fought a long war. They all have serious things to show for their troubles.

i like your passionate argument but we all know corruption exist in all forms of government.

Some countries even call it lobbying just to hide the fact that it is corruption.

The difference is whether there are systems to check it and whether those systems work.

I've always maintained, countries who decided to run totalitarian systems in order to keep their citizens in check after independence managed to control the hunger for power in the gap left after independence.

And 98% of those countries have all progressed.

Those who decided that, jumping into democracy when they least understood it created a mess that is still consuming us all.

All the developed countries you know today run a tight system with centralised planning to control the masses in their formative years in order to grow and advance

One thing about you is your love of spurious claims and wrong facts to back them up.

Why are you stretching things all the way back to 1980? Sanctions started in 1986. 1987, 1988 and 1989 were all years of good growth for South Africa's economy. By 1988 you were already paying billions of dollars as debt payment. A country facing trade embargoes? grin How is that bankruptcy?
South Africa in recent times suffer recessions. Are those from sanctions? I tell you: the sanctions against south Africa was a wool the West pulled over the eyes of blacks South Africans who knew nothing. wink

With the oil embargoes, America and the west continued to support South Africa through the backdoor. The apartheid government was never abandoned by their fellow brothers and sisters. Remember, Reagan, Bush, Thatcher and co were openly against the sanctions. This is from caltex, a big American company which continued to sell oil to South Africa despite the embargoes:
“In 1973, we were
unable to buy Saudi Arabian crude and we switched
our supply to Iranian sources. When the Shah fell in
1978 Iranian supplies dried up and we had to look
elsewhere. It is to our credit, not only the oil industry
but the South African Government, that there was
never one shipment of oil, so to speak, missed... grin
Although we are effectively prevented from buying oil
openly, we still get exactly what we want.” grin
http://richardknight.homestead.com/files/oilembargo.htm

In addition, Iran openly sold oil to south Africa in the 70s. wink
