There is a reason you don't see nuclear reactors in cars and planes. You only see them in ships and submarines. Each devices has a kind of energy that can power it. Cars batteries can power it... But your jumbo jets are too big and needs enormous power draw to even get of the ground. For that use case... Battery will dies before tou say hiphip. Same with cruise ships.

Batteries have components of rare earth metals, their extraction is extremely wasteful and damaging to the environment.China gives a rats arse about the environment, they control 90% of world's rare earth metals.Western societies were forced to shut down their mines, they too have plenty of rerserves of them, but green activists had them shutter.
We are not conflating clean environment with Climate change. Cleaner efficient fossil fuels are the way to go we all agree. But banning fossil fuels to transition to renewable energy is at the tail end of a pipe dream.
Sahara has the sun most of the year, a lot of solar can be produced there. The real problem begins with transportation of that power . Losses abound.
