Immediately they finished watching their Big Brother Africa, they found a new cause in #endsars. Everyone in Nigeria applauded them, the global community joined in the #endsars.

As soon as the attention of the presidency was drawn, the president held a meeting with the IGP and not long after SARS was ended or disbanded. Victory at last, then as with most victories, they started taunting even the elders who stood with them, claiming that if the elders had done anything before now the nation would not be like this. Cries to them that protest during military regime of IBB and Abacha was worse was met with jeers.

Even though the objective of the protest was called endsars, they got carried away and refused to leave the streets. They came up with a 5 point demand, hoping the government would refuse to listen to them, the government accepted to implement the demands. Still carried away by their new found power just like a lion that has tested blood for the first time, they started obstructing people from going about their legitimate businesses.

Concerned by their resistance, government even assured them that members of SARS would not be allowed to join the new SWAP, all members of SARS would face psychological evaluation, and there would be judicial panel of inquiries for all complains to be held across the different states. Still they refused to leaved, fuel by celebrities who usually showed up at such protest, took pictures and went back home. #wemove became a popular slogan.

The government as an act of goodwill and transparency even suggested that a popular celebrity like Davido should set up a monitoring committee to oversee the process and ensure that there was compliance, youthful exuberance was at play and they refused to listen. Then government asked for leaders to have a discussion with them, there is no conflict that does not get to the negotiation table, Aisha, FAlz and co refused to listen to voice of reason.

Seeing the dangers this was going to do to the economy, the CBN government, many members of the business and private sector decided to wade in, but they were waded off. Revolution was a new buzz word.

Money was pouring in from arm chaired protesters all over the world, so they did not see that danger was lurking around.

But not everyone was oblivious of the danger, Segalinks, one of the foremost person to protest saw the danger and immediately asked the youths to back down that they had being infiltrated by those who wanted anarchy, they claimed he had been bought over.

The result of all of these are what we are facing today. Not knowing when to claim victory became the undoing of those who were leading 5-0 with just 5 seconds to go.

At the end of the day, businesses set up by many individuals some of whom are the Elders the youth claimed to have failed, who have been making a living for themselves have been destroyed.

Many needless lives that SARS had not successfully killed all these years have been killed. If they had just listened to voice of reason and left when the stage when the ovation was loudest, they would have had a clean victory that they would have shown their children, instead they have brought nothing but shame to those who first supported the protest. Many mothers now have to morn their kids, and the nation with very little money now has to budget for those amenities that they destroyed.

There is a reason why they say what an elder sees sitting down, a child cannot see from a tree. It does not mean the elders are right all the time, it means that some of the things that get you excited also got them excited at one stage in their life, but one needs to calm down to ensure you do not derail.

Now they will be remembered for sending the nation back by another 20 years. Una weldone

The youth and the elders are the same thing, the same mentality and the way of thinking.

If you like put 150 youths in government, they will still do as their elders
Re: Between The Youth And The Elders, Who Has Now Failed The Nation by Pecuman: 8:43pm On Oct 23, 2020
Is this even a question?

Who has been in power for 60 years, driving the country further and further into decline, the youths or the elders?

Who paid the thugs that attacked #EndSARS protesters from the beginning?, The Elders

Who engineered a system of poverty and tribalism that has made it so easy to turn Nigerians against Nigerians? The Elders

Who has claimed to disband/reform SARS 4 times before and did nothing? The Elders

Who has destroyed any trust that people place in government by always betraying their promises? The Elders.

Go back and continue licking the boots of your pay masters 9jatriot.

Who did the Youths learn that behaviour from?

Is it not the elders that have been robbing the country blind since even before 1960?

You sow what you reap. The Elders sowed corruption and are now reaping a generation raised in corruption.

There can never be peace without equal right and justice.
Youths learn from elderly ones. There are different types of looting. If you see a child misbehaving, he or she learns it from older ones.

And who frustrated the Youths so much that they felt they had to result to that?

The Elders destroyed Refinary so that they can steal subsidy money and the Youths pay with high cost of living and no Jobs.

The Elders refused to invest anything in social or security infrastructure and the youth pay with lives.

The Elders have blocked police reform the dozens of other times it came up in the past, even this time with "SWAT" the same people that made up SARS with the same laws, organization and powers.

Almost every elder in Nigeria deserves a lynching

If demands of endsars protesters are not met and government thinks they have won the youths , Nation will experience more civil unrest in the future.

The four other times that they "listened to the voice of reason" as soon as they sat down the government run by Elders ignored them.

The Elder's government is the one that threw out "voice of reason"

It is only stupid elders that would ask soldiers to use live ammunition on harmless people . Youths learn stupidity from elderly ones by attacking innocent people.
Elders should do things in right way and youths will adjust accordingly

Their elders already sold Nigeria. Why are all our refinaries not working for example? Why do we have debts that would take over 40 years to pay back?
