benalvino2: How did you reach this conclusion? Its out rightly false. Fossil fuel exploration is damning and its clean up is more damning. Lithium, Manganese and other rare metal exploration are more safer. Its operation can easily be controlled. Have you heard in recent time where exploration of this elements caused devastating pollution? No! But Fossil, even its transportation is a risk. 2 Likes |

benalvino2: A moving vehicle expends nearly all energy to overcome friction from the surface and air. I gave oil engines 55% , In reality they could be doing 30% efficiency. The idea of a magnetically levitated train is borne of the idea that opposite poles of a magnet repel each other with a force that can be directed in the horizontal direction. You power the track and train electromagnets and the train floats albeit an inch or two overcoming the surface friction. A hypothetical hyperloop uses a vacuum in the tube and the force created by opposite magnetic poles for propulsion. You damn need energy and it gorra be reliable, unlike using solar when there are clouds no power is generated. Or wind power, there is no wind no power. Guys spend a hell lot of time planning on reliable wattage hours to deliver to electric consumers They work out when to shut production depending on time of the day In the evening everyone is cooking and expending a lot of energy. Another idiot is running is a welding machine which uses a lot of current leading to losses. In electrical Power losses are the square of current and resistance Zero resistance means zero waste, which is not possible. That's why power transmission lines operate at very high voltages to reduce the current carried. A lot of details go into that. Fossil fuels are here to stay, we make them efficient until we find out how to make conductors with zero resistance. Then we can generate all power from deserts and haul it to places needed. But liberals would rather use taxes to subsidize solar panels so anyone can. afford them during summer 3 Likes |

I can assume that you might be one of the proponents of flaring from flow stations and hydrocarbon facilities.. Why is there a push even in nigeria to eliminate flaring (not relating to process offsets) 3 Likes |

basilico:What loses, you know nothing about electricity. Stop reading stuffs far right websites. The power is converted to AC to minimize loss before being sent down the transmission line. While there are HVDC transmission, it's not very common and rare. As per your rare metal.(lithium and cobalt), they are fully recyclable. Next. 4 Likes |

benalvino2: Explain what you talking about? Now its not about the exploration of its composition and its about how they are made? Tell me how battery manufacturing has got more adverse effect than oil exploration? And give scenarios where its production has caused devastating environmental pollution. You happen to be from an oil producing country which I believe should give you an edge about knowing the devastating effect of oil exploration. South Africa has been mining Gold, Diamonds and Platinum for decades and you can count their losses. Can you do same for your country? When you say you know what you talking about, I am really willing to learn. If It might interest you, I happen to have worked within Comilog premises and I outrighlty know what I am talking about on this subject. Tell me about the battery production, I am willing to learn 3 Likes |

Soon we will hear hydrocarbon is clean energy. We cant be running away from reality oo...I would prefer fossil proponents dwell more on how to reduce carbon emissions using technology whilst still dealing with hydrocarbon rather than throw away the concept of climate change..it doesn't mean it will go away.. 2 Likes |

Losses are minimal because Voltage squared divided by Resistance minimises losses. You think one should step down Voltage and increase Current ? 1 Like |

benalvino2: Power losses equals Current squared Times Resistance. And also equals Volatage squared divided by Resistance. And Power delivered is Voltage Times Current. Money tip, reduce current as much as possible. increase the Volatage as much as possible. And use low resistance conductors like copper. |
