Why are you people so quick to say otherwise, i gave my calculations based on gross earnings and normal expenses you can't bypass like(fueling).

Other expenditure now depends on your spendings which varies weekly.

That 160k i gave as commission isn't upto that cuz everyone gets either 8%, 12% or 15% at a certain threshold in a week which means the 160k maybe lesser within 8weeks on 800k gross earnings...

This is the truth but that doesn't mean car owners would increase their remittance, only greedy partner would do that while a reasonable partner would know it goes beyond just fueling and driving...

Like I've said before, I'm not here to argue this cux if i continue, I won't argue within words but facts and proofs.

Pls lets not drag this further anymore..

my point has nothing to do with partners or partners increasing fare.. it's even about those that might be making investment decision. since you are so bent on not taking opinion or being open ended. i leave you too your faith.. But to those people trying too invest in this business with such people as your analyst, you are already doomed too fail and have a heart problem.. many regards man.. cheers

It’s painful the way dish out information in Nigeria.
The same way I was told I will net 350k every month in E-hailing with my car.
I’ve been trying to convince a lady that just retired and wanted to buy Corolla 2006 and give out as HP or rentals. At first it was rentals I discouraged her and later she moved to HP. I tried my best to explain that the business is not that lucrative anymore. Just last week I heard her telling someone she wants to buy Corolla tokunbo to start Uber biz cause they make Alot of money.
I became speechless. Who will help a woman above 60 years to be monitoring Uber driver in Lagos ?
Will she ever recover the cost of purchasing the car let alone interest and in how many years ?
Will there be stories of pandemic or protest or lastma?
Will her case be different and no stories?
My humble suggestion is that we should be careful how we give information that could be misunderstood by gullible Nigerians.
I knew how hard I pushed myself to net 300k in a month, how many times I fell sick on wheels, how many times I dozed off on road and will take coffee and energy drink to keep up, how many times I slept in car codedly inside lekki estate and pray not to be caught by security. I was busy following Jesusson2020 and Farenhz and Dru23 . Yes I made money but wasn’t sustainable. And I was not on Hp or rentals.
I’m not arguing or trying to say it’s not possible, all I’m saying is that we should be careful not to increase death rate or High blood pressure of innocent Nigerians

Simple mathematics shows it is probable if you do roughly 14.5k daily.

7days x 8weeks = 56days
800k / 56days = 14,286

With an app that doesn't collect commission?..maybe.

with these your projection.. the inevicatable is at least minimum of 3k fuel + (3625commission) + 1000 (card, data and maybe food or snacks) + 2k refuel (for the next day).. these are certain expenses.. aside from other miscellanuos.. all from your 14,500 earning..

How does it increase fare?

Net income is after tax is deducted. Agreed.

I'm interested in d take home, cos fuel is an input you expend going forward, in accounting, else, it would amount to double counting, it must be reimbursed back cos it didn't come out from d thin air.

So your Net in the Uber/taxify parlance should be

Net income = Gross income - Commission - Fuel used

If you are to deduct fuel money which is a variable cost, you should as well deduct the cost of the car which is a fixed cost in the weekly/monthly earnings because the car depreciates as you drive it and should have a lifespan assigned to it at which it will no longer be suitable to use for ehailing.

Sooner or later

Rental will be 35k/week

HP 4.5m for 2003 corolla
4m for 2003 biggy
Corolla sport 5m
Civic 3.5m
EOD 9ja used 2.5m
All 9ja used coro 2.5 to 2.8m

All with 35k weekly payment.

To register a bolt acct according to Uche would soon be 100k
Uber account will be 20k
Indriver free

Lagos State government is increasing tax by 200% after the curfew is being lifted to recoup money lost to the protest/riot. So guys brace up.

Me I don deactivate My account with uber already, na inter state things right now... I can't come and kill myself inside lagos traffic with long pickup and short drop off untop 25% commission. What is left at the end of the day?

Stupid app
Stupid government.

Why is it that I'm always speechless any time @Boss Felicity speech

Is it the same Lagos state that shoot herself on d foot, the same Lagos that is fighting hard to clear their name from the so called massacre and trying to buy people trust again or the Lagos that 2023 is not sure for right now will come harsh on the people again? The Lastma i know says they wont b wearing uniform when on duty next week, even police will b mindful of their actions for now (Which out for those Ogudu Police that use to stay Ard motorway next way), i dont think you understand the level of uncertainty and how perilous everywhere is now. I'm not here to argue, I've only stated my point which that 800k is very much feasible as gross earnings within 8weeks.

160k is the commission

You have 640k.
Let's say you use 200k fuel,
You have 440k left
Plus little bonuses you were able to meet up.
Lets say roughly 50k bonuses for that 8weeks
You have 490k as your net within 8weeks.

How you now minimize your daily and weekly expenses is now left to you to maximize your savings.

As simple as ABC..... on paper

Thank you brother, I've been wondering what the argument is about. Even if the figures seem high. A salary earner will still have the same expenses as someone in ehailng, only if your company provides some amenities like recharge cards, a staff bus or official car. We complain about driving being stress. Some of these jobs are damn too stressful. At least I know people who have resigned from over a million pay check because of the stress. The only good thing about being a salary earner is you get paid even with no working hours like annual leave, sick leave, public hols etc. But ehailng na pay as you work
Not entirely true.
Salary earner may get to work and back home with just 1k fuel daily but an ehailing driver must spend at least 3 times.
That 1k fuel is even optional, you can choose to go with public transport for an amount way less than 1k depending on location but ehailing driver has no option but to spend at least 2 to 3k or more daily.

The key word for me here is sustainability, u can make money every other weeks and not make half of it in some weeks... Too many factors come to play here and when it's all said and done, This thing have strong effect on health, on the interface and survival, no wahala as u can make 150k monthly, most salary earners dont earn such, but being off the sun, eating when due and not engaging your brain for d better part of the day can't b over emphasis. This chat bring me to last month when I'm with two riders, they were sounding bitter over 400k salary, how mobile entry level starts from millions and how they have to balance the stress of work, family and so on just to upgrade their Bsc to Masters (If possible outside the country. I don't jump into ppl discussion, but right inside I was just boiling ( God, nah BTECH I get oo) and looking at them as ungrateful f**ls, if only I can get something like this... My point? 500k won't b enough when u find urself in such position, all dis 100k per week and I can gross or not, we should just try to look above and let all man work to his capacity and need to meet, either 20k or 100k weekly, with little effort or idlin away in BBN some got paid millions of naira or an endorsement self, so why do I have to kill myself driving lyk formula 1 24/7 on the road just to prove something is possible or not. As I deh now, I pray for grace more than anything else.

as for me I hate seeing earnings on my dashboard because it doesn't reflect on the money I have at hand at the end of the week , there was a week I work offline most of the week, on my dashboard earnings was something around 40k and that very week after (all expenses) I still account for 70k . And if i work 100k on dashboard I will hardly account for 45k after all expenses. I calculate what I make pay day base on cash I have at hand not on dashboard

You come into d discuss wtout knowing wat transpired.

Let me give you d background. Godfather said you can make 800k in 8weeks. So that d newbie can add n start a biz to augment income from uber.

I said 800k in 8 weeks is not possible.

Olayetan came n said its possible with his projections.

Then he came back LATER and said his projections were based on gross income,

Then I asked him, who projects on gross income? d reason d salary question came out.

For instance, if you r asked your salary expectations this week as an Uber driver, will you quote 100k? If yes, then what's d probability of doing 100k in 8 straight weeks.

I put it to olayetan himself, when was d last tym you made 100k /week on Uber

If you can't take home 100k in a week, then 800k in 8 weeks is null and void.

Its pretty straight maths.

He said Nov and Dec which is supposed to be season months.

The only challenge I'd when I was opening my Uber account was name and uploading of the inspection report.

Kindly download Twitter app on your phone then follow uber support Nigeria then you should be able chat with them via the message link. This medium is fast and more effective.
