the phones are acting as blinkers.

in real life, blinkers are used to prevent horses and donkeys from seeing what's behind them as well as what's beside them.

in the photo, the phones are used as blinkers while the donkey refers to human beings.
it's metaphorically referring to the fact that social media leaves people with an overly narrow focus or inability to see the larger picture.

Greed on one hand.

On the other hand I feel it's trying to highlight the massive adoption of consumerism in modern day society which is further fuelled by gigantic corporations (KFC, McDonald's, Big Pharma, etc) and how it's essentially turning the average individual into a "couch potato"

I think it means man is like a horse who is being driven or controlled by his blind addiction to his phone or internet. The horse tack holding the phones over its eyes and attached to the harness (symbol of control) made me come to this conclusion.

someone may have a better interpretation.
