Yes he is legally resided in Thailand, he is a student currently doing his masters just wants to go for a MBA in canada. The notes say job opportunity in country of residence which is thailand. I still dont understand why they would think he wants to come back to thailand and not his home country nigeria and we stated explicilty in the SOP. Chocs: |

@Osemigho @Vibrant99 @Mobi22 @Anon123 @Tonyodg @Frankrobbn1 @JustMellowt & other @lekiboboe respected members Good day everyone Need your help for my sister. Applied: August 24th Biometrics but not done: August 25th Refusal: September 10th I applied for Winter Semester. The moment I saw a notification, I knew it was a rejection. can't process within that range. Ordered for the GCMS notes & hère is it. Requested Date. 01/10/2020 Office Paris Text. Foss seen and integrated searches completed. Have today reviewed the file as well as the information and documents contained therein. Based on the documents provided, especially those relating to funds, reason for travel, family ties and previous trips, I am not convinced that RT reqs in good faith, that the funds are sufficient / sustainable for this study trip. . The cost seems to me disproportionate when I consider the nature of the previous studies, the economic situation (income and present assets) of the applicant and / or the immediate family and the employment prospects / potential wages. There does not appear to be a logical connection between the planned study program and the academic and professional background. I am not satisfied that she will be a bona fide student leaving Canada, if required, after an authorized stay. I am not satisfied that requesting a bona fide student under R179. File refused Got BA linguistics Applied for Diploma in Journalism Fees: 42k CAD Age. 25 Went for a diploma because she got a BA 3rd class Jobs prospects. Copywriter, Reporter, Editor, Publisher, Public relations specialist and Corporate communications specialist. Sponsor. Uncle & her self (86kCAD 15kCad) -She has a very close relationship with her uncle. - Asset. Land property worth 13kCAD & deed of gift (house) from mother. 16k CAD - She works too. (Language teaching & translation) - Got IELTS. HOW I INTEND TO REBUTTAL - Apply for 09/2020 session - Go for a PGD not a Diploma in Journalism - Pay first year school fees. The fees this is affordable. - Sponsor would be Dad/ Mum & uncle would be secondary this time. Or I get a student loan. - Money would be transferred to her account to make it look all sealed. - Work on the EOX I will appreciate your comments thanks. |

Hello charlyduru, Has he completed his master’s? What field? Why MBA when he just finished master’s? That could be the reason for the “purpose of visit” denial. Well errors could be made in applications. But he wasn’t denied for 1 reason, so without the job reason, there would still be other reasons. You should share the visa officers comment from the gcms notes for the house to see and analyze He should repackage his application and refire charlyduru: |

Hello ayoadefantastic Is the funding available for every year of the PhD? You’ll need to get someone in her field to assist with a solid SOP. She needs to emphasize clearly how this PhD will be of benefit to her career in Nigeria. Has she started building her own account? Even with funding, it’s advisable to show something in your account too. ayoadefantastic: 1 Like |

Hello, Sorry to hear about the refusal. Is it just a diploma or a post graduate diploma? To be honest, linguistics and journalism are not related if you look at it properly. Your funds were also considered insufficient. How much did you submit? Who was the sponsor? Was any tuition paid? Seeing that the tuition is on the high side, you need to have a convincing reason why you’ll pay that much, when there are cheaper options in Nigeria ConradAce1: 1 Like |

charlyduru: I regret to hear your friend's study visa application was delayed. Having gone through the generic response from the visa officer. Its most likely that your friend's current immigration status in Thailand does not qualify him to apply for a study visa to Canada from there. Accordingly, I will advice that he should return back to Nigeria and file for his re-application. The Visa officer has expressed concerns due to the limited employment opportunities in Thailand and/or his home country. PA should explain in detail how his proposed program would be a benefit to his career prospects and the employment possibilities for professional in his chosen field of study in Nigeria. It will end in praise. |

ConradAce1: I regret to hear that your friend's study permit application was delayed. A glimpse at the visa officer's notes demonstrates that PA is not applying for a study visa to Canada in good faith (which implies that she is not a bonafide student). The VO is not satisfied that the funds mapped out for her studies is reasonable given her income, economic conditions as well as her salary on the completion of the program. And that there is no logical progression between your proposed program in Canada with her previous studies and current employment. Given the above enumerated concerns of the visa officer and in summary of the below points highlighted by you on how you intend to rebuttal in her next application; HOW I INTEND TO REBUTTAL Apply for 09/2020 session - Go for a PGD not a Diploma in Journalism - Pay first year school fees. The fees this is affordable. - Sponsor would be Dad/ Mum & uncle would be secondary this time. Or I get a student loan. - Money would be transferred to her account to make it look all sealed. - Work on the EOX I'll advice that the uncle sponsorship should be scrapped off completely in the next attempt. If truly the uncle wants to provide support for her studies, he should do so by sending the money into the PA father's account in little denominations so as to avoid raising the eye brows of the visa officer. The entire first year tuition should be paid into her student account in the College and funds should be transferred to her personal account to demonstrate funds accessibility by the PA. Applicant should go for a program that is reasonable in light with her current work experience i.e a PGD in Journalism. More importantly, however, the LOE must be well detailed, coherent and straight to the point by highlighting the changes that have been made in the recent application and properly explain her employment prospects in Nigeria. PA should provide justification if the pay scale for journalist professionals is very impressive with job security that would outweigh the cost and investment made in her studies in Canada. I would advice that she should maximize every opportunity by referring the visa officer to one to two web links on the internet where it was stated that there is a dearth need of foreign journalists in Nigeria. I hope this information helps. All the best in her next attempt. It will end in praise. 1 Like |

Chocs: Was a Diploma in Journalism she applied for but intend to go in for a PostGraduate in Journalism this time I think linguistics & journalism are interrelated fields. 1. Our country is Bilingual. We French & English. You can move to be Copywriter, Reporter, Editor, Publisher, Public relations specialist and Corporate communications specialist. -No tuition was paid. -Tuition was 42K CAD. B.S from uncle was 86k CAD + 13K from sister. -I will have the tuition paid this time. -The sponsor was the uncle. But this time, Sponsor would be Dad/ Mum & uncle would be secondary. Would have the money transferred to her account this time. I have it explained in the LOE why we choose Canada but the fees is about 8k. |

Pimp04: Most often the attendants who are responsible for responding to enquires might ignore your query without acknowledging receipt of the CSE. However, be advised that they have appended your complaints to your GCMS notes for the visa officer's review. Correspondingly, I will recommend you contact them again through this email address.
