November isn't far away
I say I don see the turf you say don't be in a haste to conclude

You see that Asaba turf is a replica of the Ogbemudia stadium. Even the new Eket stadium or Enyimba turf na Wembley where that one dey.

He's not far from the truth bro. That pitch is as terrible as Asaba's pitch.

Adepoju Samuel (oganlamedia) Resigns

This might not be unrelated to the harassment he suffered in the hands of the Nigerian police

Pls from Tunisia match will you start Akpoguma ahead of Balogun.

Akpoguma is a good CB but average so starting lineup is not sure for him in GWG with what we saw in recent friendlies.
I will pair Balogun with Akpoguma

What was on the turf was synthetic, they removed it and placed the exact grass on Asaba turf. Imagine turf that covers your boot as a player. Ball distribution is hampered on that kinda pitch.

For me to have mentioned Enyimba and the Eket turf is to tell you how bad that turf is. Well like someone said earlier, November isn't far away.

Eagles camp opens November 9 ahead Sierra Leone clash–Rohr
sportinglife.ng

Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has confirmed November 9 as the opening date for the team’s camp in Edo State’s capital, Benin, for next month’s 2021 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) double header against Sierra Leone.

The German coach said he was fine-tuning the squad list for the two encounters to be held in Benin on November 13 and Freetown on November 17, adding the injured Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi and Bordeaux’s Samuel Kalu would be major omissions.

“Yes; we are playing in Benin,” Rohr told NationSport yesterday.

“On Monday, November 9, we will open the camp,” he added.

Early this month, Rohr blooded some new players for the Super Eagles during the two preparatory matches against Algeria and Tunisia in Austria ahead of the AFCON qualifiers against Sierra Leone.

The experiment saw some newly-invited including the likes of Zaidu Sanusi (FC Porto, Portugal), Frank Onyeka (FC Midtjylland, Denmark), Samson Tijani (TSV Hartberg, Austria), Cyriel Dessers (KRC Genk, Belgium), and Chidera Ejuke (CSKA Moscow, Russia) being handed their first outings in the national team colours.

But the experienced 67-year-old Rohr has now hinted that some of the new players would be included in the squad to face Sierra Leone, with the inclusion of fresh new players he refused to disclose yet.

“Some of the new players will be there,” Rohr said about the long-awaited list. “But still missing is Ndidi and Kalu; and one (player) will come for the first time.”

The Super Eagles are currently leading Group L with six points after winning their opening two matches at home against Benin (2-1) and away against Lesotho (4-2).

I have no clue what kinda grass that is but I've only seen it in Nigeria. You see that turf (even though a practice pitch) we played Tunisia against is like heaven where the Benin/Asaba turf is.

Master I was disappointed when I saw the pitch I won't lie to you. Every other thing about the stadium makes sense, electronic score board with VAR capacity, nice seats cheesy

If it's exactly like the Asaba pitch, them I'm not too looking forward to it...

That kind of grass looks overgrown and not smooth enough.

That Enyimba stadium pitch remains the best in the country for now...

I am not trying to argue with you what you saw, only you know what you saw.. what am trying to say is that the stadium was newly renovated prior to the Edo gorvernnorship election..and is also bound to more maintenance pre match day proper..

Can't the grass be mowed to a more standard.

When we want to play Cape Verde I advise the eagles train on that pitch because that's the exact replica of pitch in Praia.

That's a synthetic turf

I see some people recommending enyimba pitch. Why do you think Nigeria has not used enyimba, kano pillars, rangers stadiums and one additional big stadium somewhere in the north? It's because of the pitch, the pitches are attractive but a problem lies, they are artificial pitches with grass grown on top, I've forgotten the exact method they call it. they are not better playing grounds than all natural pitches. Teslim balogun stadium wanted to remove their own sometime ago so as to host Nigeria games. Don't let looks deceive you, the all natural pitches at asaba and uyo are still better turfs once in good condition.

Yes the stadium was recently renovated

No be matter of mowing, that grass no matter how you mow it isn't suitable for football or any grass related sport. It's a typical rice farm.

The Enyimba pitch is almost same as the Uyo pitch
It's a technology for laying of pitches used (forgotten the name right now)

The Enyimba pitch isn't same as the synthetic turfs we see in Kano and Jos.
