Ishilove: "Pontiac vibe, for instance,..." The above were my exact words. I used for instance. I didn't mention it was the only Pontiac model in Nigeria or in the world. 1 Like |

Philadelphia: Grupo: That depends on the Pontiac you are referring to. Have you heard of the Pontiac TransAm (used in Smokey and the Bandit, Cannonball Run, etc), the Pontiac Firebird, etc? When I was growing up in the 1970s and '80s Pontiacs were known for speed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nZZPalUHlxc 4 Likes 3 Shares

naptu2: You shaa want to prove a point that is still invalid. The Pontiac you are referring to (Firebird) is not in production and not what anyone in Nigeria ever thinks to buy. The maximum speed is even pegged at 165mph. But even at that, the fastest Pontiac ever made; the GTO and 2009 Pontiac G8-GXP had a top speed of 175mph. Even the 2009 Pontiac G8-GXP does 0-60mph in 4.7 secs. If you call that a speed demon, what will you call the Audi RS7 that does 0-60mph in 3.7s and gets to 202mph? Or is it the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat that still does 0 -60 in 3.7s and gets to 203mph? Even the BMW M5 and Mercedes AMG continental do it slower but still faster than that Pontiac. The civic type R will chew that Pontiac and spit it out. I still maintain that the Pontiac is never a speed demon. 1 Like |

Philadelphia: What a load of crap! I repeat and it was quite clear in my post, the Pontiac Firebird was considered a speed demon in the 1970s and 1980s. How can you compare that with cars that are made at the moment? Does that even make sense to you? Are you thinking properly?? You said that it's never a speed demon, yet you have failed, totally failed, to prove that it was not considered a speed demon in the 1970s and '80s. 6 Likes |

Ishilove: Kingreign and Heavenlybang come and see this guy o. I guess he's asking for a race from you guys with his "speed demon". Quick facts: His car should be a 3.8L v6 and should be doing 205 hp. Meanwhile, see the screenshot below Person wey dey use 2010 Camry v6 still know him limit and will not dare to call his car a speed 2 Likes

naptu2: This was your first post and you never said it was considered. You spoke as an "authority". Who buys a car that is no longer in production? So, let me compare my comparison in peace. naptu2: I won't do anymore research for you and since you don't know how to prove your point (you don't even have a valid point to prove sef) but only want to throw words, then I'd ignore you so you can use your Pontiac speed demon to speed to where you can buy sense. 1 Like |

Philadelphia: It's obvious that you know exactly what you are doing. Like the other guy said, you are deliberately misunderstanding what everybody is saying because you know that you can't prove any point. Ishilove said that the Pontiac was a speed demon. You said that it can never be considered a speed demon. I said that it was considered a speed demon in the 1970s and '80s when I was growing up. You then started comparing a 1970s car with a 2010 car You can keep fooling yourself, but 3 people here can clearly see what's happening and you are the only one that can't. There's no need wasting any more time on you. Goodbye. 12 Likes 2 Shares |

Philadelphia: Actually, Pontiac was an enthusiast brand and made plenty of fast cars in that time period. Obviously a fast car in the 80's wouldn't be considered fast now. 1 Like |

miketayo: Blatantly false. An M5 absolutely smashes the E63s. Ditto an RS5 and C63s. The AMG GT line is excellent, though. Mclaren does not use a Mercedes engine, I'm not sure what you're talking about. It's Aston Martin that uses the Mercedes 4.0TT. |

CelestialSmash: This was the thread below: Odunayaw: Then Ishilove responded thus: Ishilove: Obviously, you can clearly see here that ishilove was referencing the contemporary Pontiac that we see in Nigeria today. Thus, the reason I affirmed and still affirm that "Pontiac is never a speed demon". Below was my exact message: Philadelphia: Thereafter, one omo grandpa that was born before Queen Elizabeth started quoting ancient history. From my quote, I used the verb "is" in its present tense not "was" as past tense as in "Pontiac is never a speed demon". That's why I referenced modern cars and affirmed that the model mentioned by the omo grandpa is no longer in production. But grandpa wan prove invalid point and werey wey dey disguise cannot understand. Simple English grammar o. 6 Likes |

Re: Debunking Car Myths by Peppermintflav: 2:37am On Oct 28, 2020 |
ivandragon:I started off by saying that it's correct on paper. 100km/h is same no matter the vehicle being used. I also agree with you that if a man can run 100km/h he will be on the same level with a car doing same speed. Now where you fail to understand my point is where I said if identical cars have different tyre setup, if they level up side by side, no doubt they are doing the same speed but if the one that came with stock tyres is reading 100km/h on the speedometer the one with modified or bigger tyres would be showing a different reading on the speedometer. We are on the same page. But sometimes things are not always what they seem. |

KingAzubuike: This is a whole lot of nonsense. I guess you're talking about the Hyundai Genesis. Go sit down in an S Class of the same year and give me your report. That said, Audi and BMW actually do certain things better than Mercedes. Audi has better build quality, BMW has better performance. Mercedes manages to merge the two effectively but doesn't do it as well. |
