Hi Guys,

Does VFS Lagos still require that you book an appointment before submitting, or one can just walk in and submit?

Just walk in and submit.

Hi Nairalander,
For a PhD program, should I evaluate both BEng and MSc certificates for SAQA? Are both certificates necessary?
Please, I need an urgent response. Thanks

080bjaked:

Not necessary but ensure you get a letter of introduction from the company also stating that they are paying for the trip expense (preferably on the company letter head).

It's not a biggie to present your statement of account too if it is sufficiently funded.

VERY NECESSARY

tataiwo09:

1. SAQA
2. Write a short proposal
3. Find a tentative supervisor
4. Apply for admission.
5. Use admission documents to apply for student visa
6. Once you get admission letter come back here to ask for visa parole

Hi, do I need to evaluate both BSc and MSc or just the most recent for a PhD study?

Thanks

Your Msc alone is enough. But you will need to upload your other documents

The range.
For Masters, will 1 million be ok for a year?.
Since there is no tuition (UKZN).

Thanks
,1million will be okay.accommodation for the whole will be around 500k naira or more depending on the facilities.2cost of Feeding will depend on your eating patterns. If you love eateries you are likely to spend more .

Please how do we go about getting proof of accommodation for study visa? Can a hotel reservation do justice to it or we pay for an apartment ahead to get the proof

The safest thing for you to do is to search for cheap apartments around your university, talk to the owners/agent in charge, pay the required deposit (but let them know your rent will start counting when you arrive).

This is a much safer way to go should in case they try to verify your proof of accomodation.

Wanting to go to Guyana but was told to use an agent who is in South Africa and who said I need to get South African visa and be in South Africa for a week or so to granted permit to travel to Guyana from South Africa. That it’s easier from South Africa to Guyana as it’s one of their visa free countries . Please how true is that?
(2) the agent charged me 600k for South Africa visa, please can I get the visa without an agent?what permit would enable one go to another country from South Africa if I’m not a South African citizen ?
(3) has anyone travel to Guyana or any other country this way with the SA visa and permit ?
Please advice me.
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by sirrotex: 10:06am On Oct 31, 2020
I do not know anything about Guyana. However, I know you can get a South African Visa without the help of an agent. All you need to do is take your time to read up this thread, you will see how a lot of people applied without agents. Also, even when you get your visa to South Africa, I doubt you can apply for any visa from there since you do not have a residence permit. Every visa applicant in a country outside his country of origin has to show his legal right to be in the country where he is applying. In your case, you would most probably hold a tourist visa. I advise you go back to the drawing board and restrategize.

In other words, it is easier for South African passport holders. Do you have a SA passport?
