I'm looking at buying my first car next month, but I haven't been able to reconcile my choice between Honda Accord 2010 and Camry 2010. Experts in the house, please advice which is better in terms of budget, engine, general specs and any other thing you can think of. Thanks

PS: I'm considering clean and well maintained Nigerian use car for now!

i drive a camry 2008 presently but i had a honda before nw. And in terms of reliability and strenght i pick the honda, and also honda is easier to maintain for me.

Go with the Honda.

how long do you intend to use the car for?
i'm asking this because if you eventually decide to sell, the toyota normally commands more resale value compared to the honda.
however design wise, the honda beats the toyota hands down. fuel economy is similar but I think the toyota has a slightly better fuel economy tho.
what engine type are you considering? 4 ot 6 cylinder?
will you been doing city driving more or inter state?
have you done a critical analysis of mechanics around. which brand do they support more? NOTE: Competent auto shops o! not road side.

1. I stay within the Lagos axis, I guess getting a competent mechanic won't be a hurdle.

2. I am considering 4 cylinders. You can advice me further on this. Thanks

3. The car will be used mostly within state drives. Interstate like Lagos to Onitsha will be once in a blue moon. Say 6 months period.

if am in your shoes i would get the honda accord,but make sure you dont buy a Nigerian used accord v6,even if u must buy the v6 please it should be toks.everyone knows what he or she wants in a car and i love balance ,good acceleration,a good dashboard and sturdy shocks which this camry cannot give me,i really dont care about fuel economy and i think the camry is a little bit fuel economical than the accord.i choose the accord anytime anyday.if you care about fuel economy than other variables just get the camry.

pls consider paying for pre-purchase inspection. this will really save you the headache of buying a money pit. also if you will, make sure it is a trustworthy technician you can trust.

a Nigerian used V4 is OK esp the 2.4 engine .please carry better Mech make e check every every before you pay.I mean every every. goodluck

Nice to know but I was actually referring to the 4 cylinder as that's the one i have had direct contact with.
However by "mpg rating" are you referring to mpg on paper or in real life?
Regardless experiences differ so what you experienced is sure different from what I experienced.

How about the 4 cylinder? Lately I've been having this wierd feeling about the Honda accord.

Hondas are sweet ride... Almost as good as Toyota, cheaper to own too... Rest of mind
