The highlighted share a border with Libya and Mali, a wilderness of endless desert filled with terrorists. It would take a very brave person to even think of attempting this journey.

Yep I am aware of the conflicts and the Sahara.

But man can't live life in fear.

I plan on getting a local guide/escort if it's necessary.

Everything na plan.

Hehehe this will be interesting o. Never heard of anyone that’s done it but what’s ur itinerary. I can tag along

Still in the planing stage so nothing solid yet.

First steps is getting health and safety/communication down.

Then go on forums of people with experience doing the Dakar for some pointers.

Etc etc.

I might open a thread for it.

But probably spend a night in each of the transit countries. Or visit landmarks that won't be way out of the route.

Unfortunately, all you can do is present proof of application......... (which is adequate).......

From one government organisation to another, they are fully aware of backlogs.........

Thanks so much. I can’t submit my application until 1 month to expiry, so I’ll just tell them to wait till then, since their body is scratching then grin

You the best!!

I would think an evidence of application should suffice. When it happened to me back in 2018, i submitted a copy of the visa appointment confirmation to HR. Then after a couple of days, I was sent an approval form to be signed, allowing them to access the visa information with Home office.

Afer the check, home office issued a Verification Notice valid for 6months, which confirms my right to work. So I believe a similar process should apply to your case.

Chop kiss Fati kiss

Ah you’re so lucky this stressful part of your life is over cheesy

Since Moneyfex have decided to upgrade their systems.........

Anyone heard of DT&T? App available on playstore (best rates so far)....

You would have to validate, prior to initial transfer (validation completed within 24 hours)........

Heard of them here some years ago. I will check them out again. Thanks.
Modified:
I just checked their rate and it's the same with transferboss but with a hefty fee (£4).

They've been around for a while and used them a couple of times. It was just their transfer fee that I think was a bit on the high side when I compare with Smallworld then. I've also noticed in the last few weeks (with Moneyfex and AceMoney misbehaving), they have better rates.

When you factor that hefty £4 charge + other lower rates, with free transfers..... DT&T wins..... They are currently on 575 - £1......... cheesy

Oya while waiting, please how did you fill in the application? Any tips?
I also saw employment history and another section with Previous skills and experience,do you know the difference between the two?
I am also considering joining the civil service. grin

There’s no difference between the two. For the EH I copied my work history from my CV and pasted. Then for previous skills and experience, I copied all my skills that I learned over the years (which should normally be in your CV too) and pasted.

Example of EH is: Customer Care, Boots, April 2000-2012. I offered help to customers.... etc

Example of PS&E is: Microsoft office, leadership, NVQ, etc

Is it better to exchange my naira to pounds from Naija or will I get a cheaper exchange rate if I ask my host in Manchester to assist in changing it since she will be picking me from the airport (I'm thinking I can just change little to hold till we meet)?

Summarily, do I stand a chance of getting a lower exchange in the UK compared to Nigeria?

Hi guys, I think Azimo is the best, speaking of the transfer charges rate and the moderate exchange rate in naira, that's my stance.
