Hello, has anyone used the attached diode connectors before? I want to know if it acts as current limiter if not can anyone recommend a good current limiter (preferably one that can be sourced locally)

SAFETY TIP!

Tubular batteries maintenance cost is relatively high. You must buy batteries with a gallons of distilled water add cost and compare them with maintenance free battery . If you don't maintain battery on time, customer may ask refund or change under warranty time . Don't install these batteries in busy walkways area or closed non breath areas as hydrogen gas is hazardous & can cause fire .

Note: Install all flooded batteries with fireball - fire protection materials

Tubular / flooded deep cycle battery maintenance distilled water & electrolytes now available!

Distilled water 1L (12 in pack) ... 5,000
Distilled water 25L (with free gallon) ... 7,000
Electrolyte (Accurate specific gravity) ...7,000

Direct from chemical industrial plant ! Place your orders now !!

It's not a current limiter. Allows current through only one direction. It's used to ensure that no reverse current flow through a string of solar panels.

Especially useful if you're using more than two strings, as shade in one string can result in excessive reverse current through the shaded string causing damage to that string.

Thanks, this is similar to what I read online as well, so if a current above its rating reaches it does that blow it up or is the higher current allowed to pass through?
Do you have any recommendation of a PV current limiter?

If it passes current above it rating, it will eventually get damaged (through thermsl runaway). It's not meant to be a current limiter.

No, I don't know of a PV current limiter other than the functionality charge controllers provide

I have used my borehole water for my Trojan batteries in the last 6 years. It has served me well. A colleague was paying for distilled water for another type of Trojan, the whole set up last about a year and a half. Luck, I guess. This is not a technical advise on flooded batteries. Follow the instructions of your manufacturer unless you hope to accept personal responsibility for any untowards outcome.

Goodevening everyone.

I just might need some assistance here please.

I have a system of (Modified Sine wave Inverter) 24v 2.4kva running for only a few days and counting.

Today I realised a strange occurrence, let's say just one for now. For sometime now I have been on a particular FM radio station and only this afternoon I tried to tune to another then realised all my radio stations were gone. Just coincidentally as grid went off, I realised my stations returned inbetween and went dead again on restoration of power (grid went off only a few min).

Went to the inverter and unplugged from grid to feed from batteries and my radio stations returned, please any idea/experience/solution to this?

Just for the info too, I use an external automatic charger of 12Amp to support my inverter of 15amp to 20amp with both connected to grid then battery for a faster charge. I also realised that with the inverter connected to grid and the fm tuned to a known station, the sound system gives some noise without audio then with the charger connected to grid too the sound system gives even more noise still without audio. With both charger and inverter disconnected from grid, sound system works as expected.

I have gone through the link below with no solution :

It's definitely interference from the inverter and charger. I think your inverter being modified sine wave is also a big factor. I experienced this with only my external charger, my inverter is pure sine wave.

Is the inverter and external charger close to your TV? If yes, try relocating them far from the TV and sound system, that should reduce the interference.

Thank you for your time.

I think so far, the earthing system is good. All "negatives" including that of the inverter AC output "negative" are looped together. I hope this answers the "how" sir.

Before now. Have never had any issue, shock or noise of any form.

Many Thanks for your time.

Been researching too and all I see affirms the cause to be the modified sine wave inverter actually. Though I just realised too that without the external charger connected to power, I get a few more fm stations than when it's connected. Infact I get only 1 fm station.

Also just realised that my single rechargeable bulbs too either dont charge or just don't stay ON when I intentionally turn off all power including inverter... Lol... Not important/needed anymore though grin

Both the inverter system and sound system are in the extreme of an "L" location of two separate rooms apart (just to describe).

does your inverter support such, I mean neutral looping, why don't you try disconnecting the loop, so the output stands as a standalone, then see if such happens again

doesnt seem to hv that capability, a current limiter should have some inbuilt electronics...no sign of that in that connector IMHO
