second hand phones don't count because it doesn't increase shipment. If someone byyz the phone in UK used it and send it down to Nigeria, it's counted has been bought in UK and nothing else. 80% of Nigerian iPhone users won't count because they are second hand or even fifth hand. But you will see alot of Nigerians buy new xiaomi, Huawei and Samsung. It will be hard for you t see a UK or US used xiaomi or Huawei.

Samsung sef is over rated. I used it before getting Huawei (best phone with value for money I ever bought).
If not for American sanctions Huawei had already surpassed Samsung as no1.

and if you read the article "clearly" first, you'd notice it's about the shipment of phones for the third quarter of 2020 (July to September), the IPhone 12 was released late, last year the IPhone 11 was released early hence the - 10.6% year on year.
the only phone Apple released in 2020 was iPhone SE and for it to ship that amount of phones in a year where people are mostly buying midrange and flagship killers smartphone, that's impressive.
And oh, the $2 trillion thingy was a comical diss not that it represented iPhone shares in Apple capital revenue

As soon as a Nigerian user gets the Xiaomi experience, he becomes a preacher of the goood news. Got mine less than a week ago based on info from a friend who got his a few months ago and I've convinced at least 2 people planning to buy why they should ditch mumufinix and stupidno and go for Xiaomi.

apple market share reducing means profit reducing too.

Iphone is not making a lot of money as it used to as alot of people are keeping their iphones longer in countries like usa where there is brand loyalty.. Thanks to the fact that apple just keep churning same product with different name every year and not as innovative anymore.

That's why apple is diversifying as quickly as possible and not rely so much on iphone sales.
