I don't think l have ever been broke in the true sense of the word in my entire adult life as l am still single with no marital responsibility and my modest barbing saloon business ensures that money flows in everyday, no matter how small even if na 1k l made on a particular day.
But l remembered when l was still a teenager that just finished secondary school and went to live with an elder bro of mine in another state.
As per say l dey live with him and depend on him those times, it is not funny at all anytime he goes broke cos the type of job he does is not one that bring money consistently.
I don experience bastard hunger so tey l ate nothing from morning to night with no hope for the next day.
I don drink garri thrice a day for two days straight until God saw us and provided money for better foodstuff.
We bought foodstuffs on credit so much such that shame always catch me whenever l am sent on errand to buy garri on credit.
I no longer live with him sha and things are much better for him and me too. My greatest wish is that non of my future kids ever experience the type of sufferness and hunger l experienced, reason why l am hustling so hard now before even thinking of girlfriend despite being 27 years old.
God no go shame us.
I am 30, I am managing a small scall business. Only thinking of bettering my life.

I’m currently in my brokest moment as I’m typing now.
I’m in a serious need and I hate to beg. I have business ideas and the strength to pull them off but no capital to start.
Sometimes, I want to blame my parents for not being rich, or Nigeria, or people around me but las las, I blame myself for my broke state, cus my life is my responsibility and not anyone’s burden to carry...I must experience these happiness that wealth brings to people in this life by God’s grace. smileyI’m currently in my brokest moment as I’m typing now.

Hello fam,

At one point or the other, we have been broke. Do share what it was like and how you overcame it. Share the challenge too.

Mine: To cut it short, mine was a day I'll never forget. sad A bank rubbbished me by blocking my account and giving me procedures plus I was in a new location.

That very day made me realize that food is the only necessity in life. Hungered for three whole days! Was literally shaking like a drunken master. All my legs felt numb. I began remembering the good old days I ate good food.

I nearly licked toothpaste. sad

I broke a vow to never beg that day.

#Hungerbad.
I had to trek from ikotun through oba's palace to abule-ado for seven hours. Poverty is bad

Back then in 300level. The only money I had on me was 200n. I didnt know wat to do, no foodstuffs, no kerosene, I watched movies on my system to quench the hunger and while away time but hunger wouldnt let me be.. Uptil this moment, I havent told that friend she saved me, it was in december when students were registering for the new sesssion haven completed mine. All money was gone. So I called this coursemate who was married and lived quite far. She gave me her address, only for the bike man to circulate me round town until I had to pay all the 200n with me. Luckily I got to the hospital where her husband works. So someone took me to the house. She fed me well, and when it was time to go, she gave me money for tp.. Getting to school, I received a call from a friend who had been in school but didnt meet me. He gave someone money to give me.. I can never forget that day in life.. Grateful to all my kind friends

Menh I can't forget that fateful day I had only 50 naira in my entire life and was going to Festac town from Ijesha for an appointment.
I used 30 naira for t/fare hoping I'll be back with good news but the result is a story for another day.
I trekked in the hot sun of Lagos from Festac town down to Ijesha with my mind already spending the last 20 naira on garri, groundnut and probably sugar when I get home after the long trekking but something strange happened.
When I got to Ijesha bus stop, getting ready for the final trekking to my street which is like five kilometers from the bus stop, I saw this blind man with his daughter begging, and when I looked at d man, he looked straight to my eye and was begging for something from me.
Initially when I saw that blind man, I felt very grateful that I was a lucky guy,I felt pity and decided to move on with my 20 naira, I would av given him something but it was the last one on me.
Do you know that I ve to trek back from my street after successfully getting to my house to the bus stop just to give that same 20 naira to that blind man? Because my conscience would not let me rest from that moment I set my eye on the blind man...it was telling me, "you can do better by giving that 20naira to the blind man", I thought it was a joke until I submitted.
After that I saw myself crying unconsciously, trekking back home weak, hungry and without hope, but that's not the end of my story.

The following, someone I d never believed will help me, came to my house and took me to his place of work.... Same day, I was interviewed, same day I got my appointment letter, next day...
I started working in that company and the rest is history.

See never ever joke with any instruction from your heart to GIVE cos it is usually a test to lift you higher if you pass it.

Was living with my uncle though had a small job that sustained me but during this particular time, senior man was damn broke. I had nothing left on me and my bro just arrived from the village with plenty of yellow garri. Na so I concentrate on the garri for close to a week my people to the extent that he started noticing rapid decline in the volume of his garri. I ate garri sotey I no get strength again. Nobody told me before I quickly locate my family house . That day I met them cooking white rice and they were deliberating on where to find money for the stew. Brothers and sisters, I just told them to serve the white rice like that as far as salt dey there because for my own eyes na fried rice I dey see.All my body dey shake, before stew ready that day I don finish everything. My mother just dey pity me upandown

E don better small buh man still dey hustle sha. If anyone wishes to help, I dey here o

All I had was #100 ogi(pap) left in the fridge, I knew I wasn't getting any money for the whole week so I had to rationalise it. I drank the ogi for 3 days once a day for fear of not having anything to eat the next day. I felt like a walking stick I was so weak. Anytime i remember i just laugh.

If you have enough please do good by extending your hands to those who don't. Some dont know how to beg but most times we can sense it. May Almighty Allah providd for the needy (ameen)
