The Great Barrington Declaration https://gbdeclaration.org/ The Great Barrington Declaration – As infectious disease epidemiologists and public health scientists we have grave concerns about the damaging physical and mental health impacts of the prevailing COVID-19 policies, and recommend an approach we call Focused Protection. Coming from both the left and right, and around the world, we have devoted our careers to protecting people. Current lockdown policies are producing devastating effects on short and long-term public health. The results (to name a few) include lower childhood vaccination rates, worsening cardiovascular disease outcomes, fewer cancer screenings and deteriorating mental health – leading to greater excess mortality in years to come, with the working class and younger members of society carrying the heaviest burden. Keeping students out of school is a grave injustice. Keeping these measures in place until a vaccine is available will cause irreparable damage, with the underprivileged disproportionately harmed. Fortunately, our understanding of the virus is growing. We know that vulnerability to death from COVID-19 is more than a thousand-fold higher in the old and infirm than the young. Indeed, for children, COVID-19 is less dangerous than many other harms, including influenza. As immunity builds in the population, the risk of infection to all – including the vulnerable – falls. We know that all populations will eventually reach herd immunity – i.e. the point at which the rate of new infections is stable – and that this can be assisted by (but is not dependent upon) a vaccine. Our goal should therefore be to minimize mortality and social harm until we reach herd immunity. The most compassionate approach that balances the risks and benefits of reaching herd immunity, is to allow those who are at minimal risk of death to live their lives normally to build up immunity to the virus through natural infection, while better protecting those who are at highest risk. We call this Focused Protection. Adopting measures to protect the vulnerable should be the central aim of public health responses to COVID-19. By way of example, nursing homes should use staff with acquired immunity and perform frequent PCR testing of other staff and all visitors. Staff rotation should be minimized. Retired people living at home should have groceries and other essentials delivered to their home. When possible, they should meet family members outside rather than inside. A comprehensive and detailed list of measures, including approaches to multi-generational households, can be implemented, and is well within the scope and capability of public health professionals. Those who are not vulnerable should immediately be allowed to resume life as normal. Simple hygiene measures, such as hand washing and staying home when sick should be practiced by everyone to reduce the herd immunity threshold. Schools and universities should be open for in-person teaching. Extracurricular activities, such as sports, should be resumed. Young low-risk adults should work normally, rather than from home. Restaurants and other businesses should open. Arts, music, sport and other cultural activities should resume. People who are more at risk may participate if they wish, while society as a whole enjoys the protection conferred upon the vulnerable by those who have built up herd immunity. 1 Like |

For some reason my bro thinks leadership is all about taking responsibility even if it's not your fault. I don't know anything about leadership I gree but I know that if someone wrongly accused you of something that is not your fault you should take it. Shekina |

benalvino3:I supported the protest not violence.. And what I expected a reasonable president to do was talk to his citizens and ensure covid 19 protocols are observed even with the protest. Or manage the situation better via solidarity and empathetic gestures. NO..he even made it worse. Is it not the same thing we saw with buharis handling of the end sars protest? Just come out and talk to your people as a leader. Quell the anxieties of the masses. Thats what leaders do..like I tell you trump isn't a leader. 1 Like |

bayelsaowei:There was no value when the WHO was helping China spread the virus all over the world. The moment you remove trump that is the time you will understand that the WHO lied to the world allowing this pandemic. So what was the value then? Why still fund them when they are helping a communist regime spread virus. Why are we even arguing about this 1 Like |

benalvino3:You know zilch about leadership. Were you not all quick to blame Buhari for riots during the SARS protest? There is a reason why CEOs earn big bucks. When something goes wrong, they take responsibility of any disaster that happened under their watch even though they might not be directly involved. Trump however, not only did not take responsibility, he added fuel to the GF riots. And for covid, he is took no responsibility, downplayed the virus even though he knew it was deadly. Said the virus would magically go away, told trumptards to resist lockdown(liberate Michigan and co). Suggested that people inject bleach, said Covid affects virtually no one despite over 200k deaths e.t.c. Trump was the number one spreader of misinformation with regards to Covid. 4 Likes |

benalvino3:can you play subsequent videos? you do know this is the trump that they usually coerce to do the right thing..shey after this speech him true colors come out. Is it not the same nicompoop that ensured he undermined the very reason (racial discrimination) the protesters were protesting in the first place..its almost like when trump was encouraged to hold daily briefings on covid 19 until his ignorant/mumu traits showed up and he sidelined fauci and refused to adhere to every single covid 19 protocol. We know trump..its not him to lead.. 2 Likes |

Liberal film maker Michael Moore, who in 2016 predicted Donald Trump’s electoral victory, is again interfering with the premature celebration over Biden’s victory. Yesterday, just five days before the election, Moore sounded the alarm, strongly suggesting that the polls showing Biden with a comfortable lead over Trump are not accurate. In a TV interview Moore said: “The Trump vote is always being undercounted. Pollsters- when they actually call the Trump voter, the Trump voter is very suspicious of the ‘Deep State’ calling them and asking them who they’re voting for. |
