Tulacious123: This is not how things work on this thread. I don't think there is one person who has schools for every program for everyone here. Nobody can actually give you the best school for you; you have to search for it by yourself. This is one of the homework you have to do before you get your visa. Don't skip the process, or you will miss out better schools with better offer. Search for your own schools. Universities in the US for PhD in Communication (use this search string on Google, and you will see long list of schools to explore). Check the department for funding, and contact the graduate coordinator of each school you plan to do before you start the application at all. This is my field, so I can tell you authouritatively that every department of communication in every single university in the US offers GTA to both some MA and PhD applicants--if you meet admission requirement and if position is available and they deem you suitable to fill it. But note: that a communication program has GTA doesn't mean it will be offered to you if you're accepted. This is why I said you should contact every school and ask question about it before you start your application at all. If you have questions, ask. but don't skip your own homework! All the best! 9 Likes |

Pls house I need advise. I made a little error on my DS 160 form. My interview is on 6th November. It's an emergency F1 Visa appointment. Should i fill a new DS 160 form? |
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by solihp(f): 12:37am On Nov 02, 2020 |
nitdude: Since your interview is still on the 6th, you can retrieve your former DS-160 form, fill the new form and then update your new application ID on your visa page. Don't forget to submit the new DS-160 form |

Loloking: If asked why this school, you can start by saying how good the program is, ranking and all. But if he/she proceeds to ask why not other schools with better ranking, the answer about scholarship would be perfect. Any which way, scholarship is never a bad thing. 1 Like 1 Share |

thekingofafrica: Depends on where you work. People are able to save up this much sir. also you can chip in during the interview that your parents would be supporting you. they would most likely ask what they do, and then you can state that. I don't think this should be a problem. |

Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by RubyPrincess: 1:05pm On Nov 02, 2020 |
I actually called them first and I was told to send a mail. I sent a mail to LagosNIV@state.gov I told them the date my visa was approved and that I have not been called to pick up my document(s). I also mentioned that the 10 business days window has elapsed and then went ahead to but my information for them to identify and search their system. They replied and told me to go pick up. They replied the next day. So, I'll advise that you send a mail. I understand your worry. I was worried too. It'll be fine! cheers! Modelove: 2 Likes |
