the act is sinful, yes, but should we condemn, hate, despise and reject the person totally cuz he is gay? if we do all these, how do we convince them to stop the act??

The difference is simple, his just trying to tell you that, it is not because your brother is committing a sin which is against your doctrine you would now reject him and abandon him to die.
He is preaching love, that your brother is homosexual shouldn't mean you should judge him by condemning him, instead pray for him and love him.

You are NOT the Catholic Church. Don't make that mistake! You are the ROMAN Catholic Church. The Roman Catholic Church is 100% Different from the Catholic Church of Jesus Christ. No matter how they try to re-invent and hide the "Roman" from you modern followers, it doesn't change the fundamental identity, that the Pope is the Head of the Roman Catholic Church, as in, Roman Catholic, Roman Catholic........
