Thank you so much! Is transmission fee applicable to you? If so, did you pay and attach receipt or something? The courier, one way or two? rebecausoro: |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by rebecausoro: 11:12am On Nov 03, 2020 |
Lanrelala: I sent to the center where I enrolled for biometrics so I didn't have to pay for transmission fee. Courier is one way. The VAC will ask you to pay for return courier when your passport has been stamped. |

ojzreal:Hi , Your Application is still within the Standard Processing time, sequel to that if you raise a Webform now, they might likely not respond Presently, Processing time for Nigerian Applicants applying outside Canada is 15 weeks If you calculate 15 weeks from AUGUST 19 that you applied, that's equivalent to this date - 2nd December Hopefully you should get an Update before then, and if you don't, then raise a Webform/WEBFORMS & send a mail/mails to IRCC offices |

Anon123:Hon. Anon , the COVID-19 readiness plan list has nothing to do with updates sent to applicants from IRCC, my school is yet to be on the list and I got BVL, if the application of those few guys (for Conestoga College) av exceeded Standard Processing Time, they should send a Webform & Mail to IRCC Nairobi and other offices like China. The content in the link below would help them on that, https://www.nairaland.com/5818588/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/473#95627040 If their application is still within the Standard Processing Time, they should still be patient. |

Kimkalash: I'm an impatient person. It's one of my human flaws. I just don't know how to wait. I don already prepare everything for ground before now. I called the DHL people prior to confirm everything and simply went there as the request came. Besides, I'm sending from Uyo. It will not get to Lagos today or even tomorrow. I needed to make things move faster. |

Here's my story. Let me also motivate others just as I was motivated when I came to this thread I applied for a Masters in Folklore at MUN after suffering to get a supervisor last year. In fact, I suffered numerous rejections when I wanted a supervisor for an MSc in Sociology (where I did my first degree). I had applied to UAlberta and USask and was rejected. So someone advised me to switch to Folklore and I did. MUN is one of the few schools offering this programme and they accept students from Arts and Social Science backgrounds. The department doesn't get too many students and so my admission was very easy and straightforward. I even got funding of $25,000 and my supervisor later added $2000 when I started the semester online. It's a thesis program and I'm going to work on aspects of Ibibio Folklore. My timeline and documents: Applied May 17th Eligibility review started around June Medical request came last week of July Did medicals August 4th (passed one week after) AIP came August 6th Biometrics was completed August 24th BVL came November 2nd PPR came November 3rd Passport sent November 3rd I submitted my funding letter of approximately $25,000. Tuition is $5000. So I have the balance as living expenses. Bank statement of close to 1 million naira. Employment letter and letter of introduction from employer Payslips ID card Parents' employment letters, birth and marriage certificates Siblings' birth certificates My birth certificate Deeds of parents' landed properties SOP (with a few grammatical errors that I later discovered) Certificates and transcript I didn't submit police report. I didn't have a fat account or sponsor (just funding). I'm not a religious person as such too so I won't say I prayed and fasted but I believe in God and I know he took control. Many thanks to everyone on this thread. I learnt alot and it wouldn't have been easy without your comments and assistance, even to questions that I didn't ask directly. 21 Likes |

Good day House and Congratulations on those receiving BVL's and PPR's.. May we all tap into thy blessings. I have a small problem and wanted to share, incase someone is also experiencing the same. I applied from Dublin and currently, we are on level 5 lockdown. The VAC has been closed temporarily till further notice and this is also shown in the IRCC. My concern now is, what do I have to do in this situation? My BCL was issued the next day I applied (sometime last week). Thank you in anticipation. |

Hello all I got my passport request this morning. I really want to thank everyone that has helped in answering my questions! You guys are awesome! As for my profile, I am a first time applicant. I gained admission for fall 2020 but deferred to fall 2021. My SOP was over a 100 pages (cause I included the evidence of all the facts I stated). It was also in my SOP that I attached and submitted the following documents: 1. A deed of gift showing that my dad transferred the house I'm residing in to me. 2. Proof of funds. (My mum was my sole sponsor and all I needed to show was my living expense cause I got full funding). 3. Study leave approval. 4. Evidence of the the awards I received in school. 5. Letter of employment. 6. My research proposal. 7. Previous travel history. 8. Medical documents corroborating my travel history. 9. Undergraduate research paper (I submitted this because of its relevance to my research). 10. Published articles (relevant to my research area). 11. CV. 12. Degree conferral certificate. 13. Copy of the various letters of appointments from organizations I'm currently volunteering in. 14. The contact of my assigned supervisor. That's all I remember for now. And yeah, I applied in May, medicals was in June, AIP in August, no BVL and passport request today. 3 Likes |

And just to inspire someone, I had a 2:2 and got full funding. So to anyone out there, shoot your shots and do not let anything deter you from aiming higher than you ordinarily will cause you'll never know! Ujeinijobog: 2 Likes |
