Please for those who have sent their passport to Lagos, how do I get the consent form? And as a first time applicant, do I need to pay the processing fee at the VAC in Lagos (where I did my biometrics)? Thank you! |

So here's my timeline: Applied for Full time 2 year MBA at Memoria University Applied July 31 Took biometrics August 26 Got medical request September 2 Got AIP September 4 Took medicals September 7 Started classes September 9 Passed medicals September 11 Biometrics updated September 30 BVL November 2 PPR November 3 I wont go on to start lecturing people on how to believe and be hopeful or design a perfect application cause from what i have seen, luck plays a very huge role here. Almost all docs i got for the app were from different sources. It's called Yorubas call "iru wa ogiri wa". No two applications are ever going to be reviewed in the same way even if they contain the same thing including the names and surnames. Yeah hardwork plays a huge role but you re not the one to review the application so the best advice one can give is that the applicant does his best and let it be. Refusal could be extremely tough to handle especially in this country of ours where gathering cash from people who might not believe in you could be so daunting. Whoever comes out to say he wants to apply has already done his best cause it's the last stage of the whole process. I respect everyone trying his best to get a better life however the result comes. I personally dont have many comments to give regarding the gurus in here cause i began to engage here only after getting AIP but i m quite impressed by how they take their time to respond to those they can even when they re so busy. It might seem paradoxical and hypocritical but from what i see, other countries are really accepting other people so why not spread one's eggs if one has the means to? I hate to say it but Canada is not the end of the world. List of docs submitted: Acceptance letter GMAT result Resume University Certificate (Bsc in Russian) Transcripts NYSC cert Police certificate International passports (old one had a one year visa of when i studied in Russia for a year) Forms Uncle's account statement of 15 million naira (over 300 million naira outflow and inflow) Affidavit stating four of his properties are worth one billion naira, that his monthly income is hundred million naira, his four kids and their edu expenses in Canada Tax receipts His business documents His passport data page Sponsorship letter My Statement of Purpose (six paragraphs) Note : I didnt submit enrolment proof I didnt show proof of tuition payment I didnt declare any personal belongings Mentioned just mom, sis and bro in one of the forms (Said nothing about their financial standing) Mix all the above together and you d see the role variability and luck play in visa application decision. Thanks for everything guys! 10 Likes |

I called VFS and got the following info: If the application is your first and you are submitting passport to the same centre where your biometric was collected, you should not pay for transmission. Only pay for a one way courier and add the necessary documents. If it's your second or third application, you are to pay transmission fee, even if you had your biometric in the centre where you're sending the passport to. sugarleireina: 1 Like |

Chocs: Hello Chocs, Lack of evidence or insufficient documentation (and not specifically frowning at the moniker's parents occupation), as referenced in the last three sentence in the notes. The principal focus was on the moniker's poor grades/academic performance. The VO that handled the application may have applied rigorous discretion in the assessment. Cheers! |

you guys please help me, I am losing my mind, I can't focus at work... does it take this long before Canada sends a medical request, I applied since the 7th of September, and till now no single contact, I have been following this thread and most people get their medical requests 30-32 days after application... My school just informed me that I have to be in Canada between 1-15 of December to do my 14 days quarantine, and here I am still in Nigeria, and to make matters worse you cant defer admission. This is really depressing, I really need an upliftment. |

adeenzo: I've said it before but to others and I will say it to you too: don't allow Canada to weigh you down. I understand how it must feel right now but you have to just be patient and persevere. Canada's visa process is meant to drain you because of the long wait you have to go through. This is one country that is not in a hurry to do anything. They take their time and they don't care how this affects applicants. The moment you apply for a Canadian visa, take it as a gamble for time, success, or rejection. You should also have a concrete plan B because like it or not, Canada is just one country where everything seems unpredictable. Having said the above, I admonish you to relax and allow things work at their own time. Find things to do that will take your mind off the anxiety and worries. If your application has gone beyond the normal time, you should use the webform to make enquiries. If it is within the normal time, then be patient. People have waited for over 7 months for responses on this thread and they didn't die. Even in normal times, decisions can take as long as 4 months in some cases. You'll be fine. 2 Likes |
