You are not far from the truth. Electoral college brought Trump to power because Hillary Clinton won by popular votes

Nope it is not completely useless.
The popular votes determine the selection of the electoral voters.
What is more important is the number of states won and how strong the states are, and not by how much margin.

Prove me wrong make the research and give me some links..besides, my initial point wasn’t that there weren’t supporters of trump with lose screws in the head..my first comment was directed at your post that painted democrat voters as saints without wrongdoing when it was them that first set the stage of election protests and violence after losing in 2016.

Calling democrat's supporters saints!!!? Has that guy ever heard of democrat's ANTIFA ? They are so violent and lawless that US almost listed them as a terrorist group

No one American president can get more than 300.

Both candidates are realistically looking at 270 with a lot of emphasis on Pennsylvania where Biden comes from.

Even 500 is possible.

The problem with the Nigerian system goes far deeper than the age of the elected but lies mainly in the system that is decrepit right from the foundation such that even a new-born would get in, get soiled in the loo that is the system and end up getting old into the system.

All these talks about youths up and down na long shot so long as the present system prevails.

How many army and police was drafted into the polls? How many movements were restricted? How many agbero did they release? How many voters were killed or shot at? Use your head. Nigeria have nothing to offer to democracy

My brother, there was a terrorist attack in Vienna Austria yesterday.
Surprisingly, the police and not soldiers, were used to quell the attack.

Terrorist attack ooo
Now imagine what our country where soldiers were brought to shoot at peaceful protesters would do.

I never care to participate in this thread since the moment I knew you are Democrat/Liberal incline and a Trump hater.
You should learn to be unbias and objective in your thinking and not emotional like a baby.

Your opinion though. Very easy for you to conclude. Whatever comes out of this election doesn't add one naira into my pocket. It is just like a game between Real Madrid and Barcelona. No matter which side I decide to tilt to, it doesn't affect me a bit. The main thing is the players will be the profiteers or losers just like we have political players too. Mind you, this is their own occupation and we are just the audience. So you can't tell me what to do and what to write or who to support or who not to support.

I am just a fan of the USA election which I have being following since the days of Clinton campaign in 1992 all thanks to my free to air 362 free channels satellite dish. grin grin grin grin grin grin

There are states that are already solid red and states that are solid blue

For example, states like Oregon, New York and California are solid blue states while most southern states are red nation i.e. Montana, West Virginia, North Dakota etc.

Re: US Presidential Election 2020 (Live Updates) by Tcwork: 4:33pm On Nov 03, 2020
Your write up is really good but very one sided.
You almost sounded like CNN.
About the violence, most of the rioting are in Democrat controlled cities and states.
In fact businesses in cities like New York and Los Angeles and boarding up their windows and door in preparation for violence.
Right now republican cities are safe and riot free. Most of the rioting are antiTrump.
chloedogie:
1. The battle for the 270 Electoral college vote points.

As it is well known in the USA, winning the general popular votes doesnt guarantee that presidential seat, but winning the 270 electoral college votes gives you the presidency as seen in the 2016 elections. Hillary Clinton won the popular votes by almost 3million votes but President Trump won the electoral votes by over 300 points. So the battle for the major states and swing states is the real deal now. Main reason why the two candidates are still out there campaigning in major cities where the electoral college votes could determine the outcome of this election.

2. Their bases.

President Trump has one of the strongest die hard supporters bases anywhere in the world. They are like our brothers up in the North here in nigeria. Their fanaticism is so strong and sometimes scary. Though he has lost some supporters due to how he managed the covid-19 pandemic and his constant verbal rough languages but you cant deny the fact that he has gained many more supporters over the year.

For the Joe Biden base, they are more of the Behind, executive, reserved and mostly educated calm folks around the country. They could be likened to our rich Ikoyi billionaires who were making fried rice with chicken, barbeque, suya, popping champagne and sitting under canopies during the elections in 2019 on the island in Lagos. He has a very massive quiet supporters who their voices will be heard on the ballot papers. He is widely loved and more popular than Hillary Clinton, reason why the trump's campaign committee are a bit worried.

The racial differences impact on the votes.

Though largely claimed and always spoken by Trump himself that he is the only president that has done more for the black communities than any other president in the history of the United states. But words are cheap. A reflection of how true or false this is could be seen during his campaigns. You hardly see any black American at his rallies which are mostly crowded by whites. On the other hand, Democrats are known to be the only party that have the interest of the black communities and this reflects in both Joe Biden's campaign pictures as well as the number of serving black politicians under the ticket of the Democrat party. You have many governors, reps, senators, mayors and county leaders who are blacks than you will see under the Republican umbrella.
