Diaperssbabies: I thought i was the only one that noticed this. To be honest this is gross incompetency on the path of the embassy. I submit a valid docs to you in the course of an application with date of appointment of interview fixed at your own convenience, and you come back to ask me for another valid A1 again. This is the height of it all.All this incompetence needs to be tabled before the consulate. 5 Likes |

asamwababy: The truth is embassy does not want you in Germany. Family reunion to them is not adding anything to their economy especially for Nigerians. I put up a tweet and nobody retweeted that. When we are ready for a change, a change will come. We are not ready. The A1 certificate is just a way to frustrate you the more. By next year, they will introduce B1 certificate for family reunion to make it impossible to enter through family reunion. Then when you did not complain, they will reintroduce another B2 and so on untill you give up and never dream of going to Germany 4 Likes 1 Share |

Please after you have done your verification and gone for your interview . How long does one has to wait for the visa because according to what I read on google , it says that it can take up to 12 weeks which means 3 months . Can it take more than that ? 2 Likes |

nolia66: Hi @nolia66, does this mean that the embassy has reached out to you again since after your lawyer reached out to do your verification? If yes, that's some good news for those that did interviews post lockdown |
Re: General German Work And Family Re-union Visa Enquiries by nolia66(f): 11:07am On Nov 09, 2020 |
doctormaliko: I was given a date to submit a new certificate, plus my husband has also submitted his documents to the office in Germany. So im just trying to make sure the certificate doesn't slow down the process when my visa is ready. |

Hello People, Has anyone gotten appointment for work visa or blue card in the past 1 month? German embassy in Nigeria are not helpful and it looks like this act is deliberate, calling them is a waste of time because you will most likely speak with a rude person who has no helpful information and they don't respond to mails either. Please if you have information or have done interview in the last 1 month, please share. 1 Like |

Please N/L , Do you guys know anyone who went with family reunion to Germany , please can the person tell me how long he/she waited before getting the visa because it’s been 2 months and 9days I did my verification and up to now , haven’t heard anything from the embassy sent mail , got no reply. Called the embassy but the lady who picked the call (smh )! I did my verification last year July . German embassy is something else. I swear to God who made me |
Re: General German Work And Family Re-union Visa Enquiries by doctormaliko: 11:53am On Nov 11, 2020 |
MarvinAjereh01: It is quite difficult to understand your post. You said you did verification July 2019, and also said it's been 2 months 9 days (i.e. September 2020) since you did verification.. which is it? However, to answer your question on the process (based on stories from NL and people who have had different experiences); 1. Apply for appointment 2. Get appointment date for between 10-12 months in the future 3. Go for the appointment, submit document and do visa interview 4. Count down to between 3-6 months visa processing time starts 5. Your case is assigned to a Lawyer to verify your existence and records you submitted. This step can take between 1-3 months. 6. The lawyer submits the report back to the embassy 7. The embassy reviews the report of the lawyer and determine if you should be approved for the visa 8. Approval from the embassy. Mail to submit your passport, travel dates and health insurance comes in. 9. Passport is returned. 10. Japa! Step 3-9 is what takes 3-6 months. In that time, the embassy in Nigeria sends your original submitted documents to the home office of the city you are moving to in Germany. They also do verifications and all. So, what "verification" have you done? That your lawyer visited you doesn't mean he has submitted the report. They have to verify every single document you submit. i.e. They visit everywhere that issued said document to confirm the authenticity of the document. That is why it takes forever. So while blaming the german embassy for inefficiencies, spare some for the Nigerian government and people that got us here in the first place. Nigeria has no public document authentication system, so no way to verify that the document you are presenting is not faked except to go cross check with the issuing agency. Nigerians in the past have also faked documents, and marriages, and other things, hence the strictness with Nigeria and similar countries. Ghana's process take less than 3 months for most cases. Exceptions dey sha.. But that's the general gist. This is the normal flow for most applications. But as usual, there are exceptions on a case by case basis. But most follow the steps outlined above. 7 Likes |

Does having admission for a master's degree help in the Family Reunion process? I had admission for masters this winter but I deferred it till next year winter, should I add this to my application to my Family Reunion application? My appointment should come around January/Feb |
Re: General German Work And Family Re-union Visa Enquiries by Ahmed4002(m): 6:36pm On Nov 13, 2020 |
BigBoy123: It's doesn't help. You have to wait within the waiting period of about 1 year. My advice for you. If you are sure of getting appointment for your Visa and you have funding already (block account for yourself and that of your spouse). I would advice you to register for her family reunion visa immediately right now. But if not sure, please don't register in other not to waste precious space for some people. |

toystars: Congratulations! Any idea why it took such a long time? Is your spouse a blue card holder, for example? |
Re: General German Work And Family Re-union Visa Enquiries by toystars: 10:41am On Nov 14, 2020 |
Ganesass: I am "the spouse" in Germany. And no, I am not a blue card holder. To be honest, I really don't know why it took so long. Waiting for appointment and documents verification take most of the time. After verification is confirmed, it takes an average of 2 to 3 months. |

House, please I am trying to apply for the family reunion for my wife and three kids that are all minor. It seems I only need to apply for appointment date for only my wife with only her passport details. Can anybody please help me confirm that this is the right thing to do? I guess the children details will be in the form that will be filled and taken to the Embassy on the day of the interview. Thanks for taking a time to answer my enquiries. |
