I came here sometime ago to ask if I could change to the recommended oil for my 2008 honda pilot after ringing the engine. I did and the engine runs ok. Initially it brings out smoke from the exhaust the first day( the volume of the smoke was unusual, oil was total ineo mcs 5w 30) but I shall use faith to continue. The smoking has stopped My Observations: 1The performance of the engine has greatly improved. The acceleration was quicker and the transitioning btw gears was faster and smoother 2 Previously my car was bringing out this codes p0325, p0430, p0128. After going on a 70miles trip yesterday, the p0430 code disappeared. But the p0325 remains with a new code p0118. 3 concerning fuel consumption...I haven't noticed any improvement, maybe with time 4The steering of the car has become softer 5 There is a top end 'she she she' kind of sound coming from the engine. The sound has been there since I bought the car. It still there. It has never interfere with the performance of the vehicle in any way. What can I do about it Lastly concerning the codes please what should I do about it. Thanks |
Re: Maintenance Tips On Cars. by GAZZUZZ(m): 7:53am On Nov 05, 2020 |
Peterlove11: The p0325 is a knock sensor code. I will advice you look into it to avoid premature engine wear, as the device helps determines detonation sequence. (Pic attached and location) P0430 was a catalyst code on bank2 . P0128 is a coolant thermostat below threshold code. Thermostat is obviously missing . P0118 is most likely the coolant temp sensor harness not fixed properly . If you check and it is, then replace coolant temp sensor .

Please house, I need your help. My rx330 steering vibrates while applying break once I'm speeding 80km/hr and above. The mechanic have changed both the break pads and the disks but it still vibrates while pressing my break pedas at speed. He also checked on the break calipers and confirmed it's in good condition. I wish I can get solution to this problem in this section. |

Stanleyallen17: I once had similar issue with my vibe, fixed it using DIY by following a video instruction on YouTube, i remove the brakepad, check if it has shining residue on surface (usually transfered from the disc, file it if it does, then check the brake disk, see if it is even, if it isn't you will need to take it to a machine shop for filing. But since you just changed the disc and pad, confirm if they were new ones if they weren't, do the checks I mentioned above. I used this vidoe for my DIY, took me 2hrs to sort mine out, car previously vibrates when I apply brake when going above 80km/h https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MLHfACvUHYw |
