True Account Of What Really Happened In Obigbo/oyigbo Rivers State by Indigenous(f): 7:03pm On Nov 06, 2020 |
My dear people, I live in PH, I have a property in Obigbo and I have friends, workers and relatives residing in Obigbo. I get in contact with them everyday to get updates of happenings there. The Wike narratives that Ipob are causing trouble in Obigbo always is just a smoke screen employed by him to vent his pathological hatred on the Igbos. First of all, let me state categorically that I’am not a member, a support or a fan of Ipob because of personal reasons not relevant here. It’s obvious that the majority of IPOB members in Obigbo are from Etche and Eleme, both are in Rivers state. The main fracas that triggered the mayhem in Obigbo during the peaceful # EndSars protest was caused by the Fulani/ Northern moslem community who confronted the protesters on a Friday after their routine prayers. They chased the protesters with weapons, in a bid to protect their main mosque at Elelenwo axis but were overpowered by the protesters who actually didn’t attack their mosque as expected but inflicted several and severe wounds on the Fulani youths. Later that night, the Fulanis brought in their deadly herdsmen around Iriebe where the fulanis have a market (yam zone) but the youths of Obigbo and the IPOB came together to resist the herdsmen and drove them away, of course there were casualties on both sides. This culminated into the burning of properties belonging to both sides and spilled over to the burning of the police station at Obigbo when it was seen that the police was on the side of the herdsmen. Later that day, the Fulani called in the army from Bori camp because the tide was turned against them. It was at this point that Wike took over when some 6 soldiers were disarmed and killed including 3 policemen. Rather than hold the two sides responsible, Wike’s govt hung every thing on the IPOB, criminalized them and declared an indirect warfare on the Igbos, in the name of hounding the IPOB members. The soldiers have carefully killed many people in revenge and 99% of the main and collateral victims are Igbos. Right now there’s a house to house hunting of Igbo youths in the name of searching for missing military guns. All these are happening within Wike’s imposed total curfew meant to keep the youths indoors for easier capture. Note that Obigbo is an abandoned LGA in Rivers state, because it is 90% populated by Igbos. There’s no govt presence, no roads, no light, and not even a good hospital or school. This is despite of the fact that there are several oil wells /fields and the popular Afam power station in Obigbo. The scandalous government neglect is deliberate and not unconnected with the obvious fact that Obigbo is igboland. The nocturnal secret house to house search, arrest and maiming is still on going as many residents are still trapped and couldn’t escape in time. The outcry for help should continue to high heavens until this govt backed mayhem stops. 16 Likes 2 Shares |

Another igbo supremacist masquerading like a good person. To hell with your narratives. You even got it more wrong and displayed your Pro igbo at all cost supremacist posture by using the name Obigbo too many times. It's Oyigbo. Of you can't stay away from homeland and live peaceably, return to the sty. 9 Likes 5 Shares |

Sensational emotional Fake news, to hell with the mischievous objective of the Op with its armatuerish gaslighting attempt. Concerning the issues in/at Oyigbo It has come to our notice that certain persons without good intention are promoting false narratives of events. . It is not unusual in violent areas for the military to conduct their checks however rough because they're partially operating under an unofficial " Marshall State " to restore order. Tell them. Lazy cowards. They stoked a war, started a fight they didn't have a strategy on how to finish, when challenged with the consequences of their ill-planned actions, they then begin to throw accusations around. Go and check the record, Rivers have always had an unfriendly posture with Police and army throughout Wike's tenure. IPOB made Oyigbo, Rivers a security threat by inviting outside forces to the region and when things go aflame, they begin to cry aloof, Wike this, Wike that. Cross over to Abia and begin to kill armies and then summon Ikpeazu to summon the navy to fight the army. I'll educated miscreants. It has become glaring that some ethic jingoistic of the SE extraction has been brandishing false narratives of events that occurred. And claiming all sorts of nonsense. If you can't abide by the laws of any land you feel isn't homeland, go home. Return home and go and be lawless there. Nuisance You want Eungu preserved by all means but want Rivers to burn. Foolish things. We won't allow you control the narrative with your so called " blessedness" that people want you down because they have fear for you. There are more igbos in PH, than in Oyigbo. They are not been killed. We won't tell you to stop the false information peddling, but will tell you to return to where you call home and feel safe at home and go and be completely lawless there and see if the consequences of lawlessness won't reach you regardless of location. Miscreants DISCLAIMER : IPOB Must be held accountable for everything happening in/at Oyigbo I will never allow them to mess Rivers state up though I'm not from Rivers, have never stepped foot on Rivers soil, don't have any relative or friends from Rivers. But I'm intelligent enough to look at facts and speak the truth without fear of losing friends even business associates. The truth is my path. I have hardly met anyone from Rivers and have always considered my igbo brothers as my brothers and all my life have always held a pro-igbo stance. From today, I'm throwing it away. I won't appease a people who are intolerant of people they consider different from them who try to drown the voices of others with their false ethnic colored Propaganda. I won't tolerate it. IPOB invited the Nigerian Army to Oyigbo and are the enemies of the igbos, not persons who are non-igbo. False narratives when people with a situation to depict an entire event which as intelligent people should know isn't always as portrayed. Condolences to the bereaved. Utmost respect to the dead and we must never allow the dead go to the grave without grieving with the mourning. We will however not let this hijacked by persons who have I'll societal objectives. No No one is happy about the deaths of youths, male or female. However, we must promote file narrative of events IPOB must be held responsible for the deaths in Oyigbo. It's IPOB 9 Likes 5 Shares |

The then West African Court of Appeal (WACA) judgement in the case between IKWERRE VS. OKRIKA in 1958 bordering on the status of Port Harcourt settled it. WACA decided that Port Harcourt belongs to the Igbos. There was no appeal till date. When Elechi Amadi was confronted with the WACA judgement by Ohaneze Ndi Igbo Counsel, he affirmed it and it was admitted in evidence. His only remark was that "the Ikwerre people involved their wealthy Igbo brothers in litigation, fought for Port Harcourt under the shadow of their rich brothers against Okrika people and consequently, the court so ruled. When asked whether he appealed against that judgement, he said NO. That Port Harcourt is an Igbo city was a judgement of a superior court that has not been vacated. The original inhabitants of Obigbo were mostly from Ngwa, Arochukwu and Owerri. WIKE can never change History!!! 1 Like |
