Hello All, Thank you for the good job being done here. The posts have all being quite educating. Please I need a guide; I want to apply for a spouse visa for my wife and daughter who are in Nigeria. I am a British citizen by naturalization I was married to a woman here in UK but divorced before marrying my Nigerian wife. My ex had 2 kids for me and they are both British citizens. They children are not living with me. My question is, in calculating my income threshold for support, will I have to add the additional 3,800 for the child my wife will bring from Nigeria or I will have to include for my other two children in the calculation plus 18,600 pounds for my spouse . @Justwise and other gurus kindly give an insight. Thanks |

Just for your Nigerian kids. British kids aren't included in the financial calculation. You need extra £3,800 for your first non-British child and £2,400 for your 2nd (and any other) non-British child. Osucount: |

Hello house my passport has expired but when I was filling the application form, they asked if the sponsor has a valid passport. I click "No" bc I can't submit an expired data page. Is this ok ? Is it compulsory to put the sponsor passport data page ? I noticed that when I put No, it was not included in my compusory document for checklist to be submitted Bc why I put NO is bc my passport has expired and the process to renew it in UK takes a long time. With the questions that I got in the application form I was convinced to put NO I don't have a valid passport, it just expired last month in the question section for spouse, they said if the sponsor can not provide a valid passport, they should tick No. kindly find attached proof and advise. many thanks. @Just wise , other guru and family members who can advise I will appreciate. Thank you 1 Share

Hello All, Please for the English proficiency via NARIC I am a bit confused which I should use for my spouse's master degree and B.Sc.; On their site there is one for 20 pounds "Statement of Comparability, English Language Assessment, Visas and Nationality Service (English Proficiency), Career Path Report, Early Years Service, Qualification Reference Statement "Another one is 135 pounds Visas and Nationality Service (PhD), Visas and Nationality Service (PhD with English Proficiency), Statement of Comparability for Construction Skills for Academically Qualified Persons" Is it the one of 20 pounds that I should use please as it states English Proficiency in the description? Also, kindly guide me on the documents to send on her behalf; Transcript? Degree Certificate?, Both or with an additional document from her school? Thank you. |

Re: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by Lexusgs430: 6:42am On Nov 07, 2020 |
Monmarri: Why not simply put in a renewal application, once pp arrives....... You file for spousal visa....... You cannot file a legal application, with an illegal document...... Yes, an expired pp is not valid and can be deemed illegal..... Don't give them any reason to refuse your application..... When they reject it, it places you back to square one......... That time you are trying to save, you would still lose it at the tale end........... 1 Like |

Monmarri: Chief, at this point it's up to you. Is a valid passport required for application? They will give you options based on your response. If it is required, you will get an automatic rejection which will mean the home office gets an easy £2600 or how much is the application fee right now. You are probably getting no replies because no one has experience applying without a valid passport. |

@monmarri, in my opinion, an expired passport those not mean you are no longer a citizen of a country... You can still use it as a means of identification . For application ground like this, ur IIr card is what matters. You are not making an application to Nigeria embassy where the PP has to be valid... If u feel u don't have the time to get a new one before applying,go ahead with ur application but if u do have the time, get it then apply... |
