@Ginaz

How old are your birds? Well, irrespective of the age, 5k is a good price if you asked me, if not too good a price coming from a caterer.

Moreover, what's the cost of you keeping the birds till Christmas and how much do think you'll sell by then? 7/9k? (Like I asked earlier, the present age of the birds will be a determinant factor).
As for your mum, she's absolutely right. Then again, wisdom is profitable to direct; you have to be smart in business if you know what I mean.

I didn’t sell for her again. I bought them at 4 weeks Old, so by next week my birds would be 3 months old. They are doing well currently and besides I did the business to gain experience and I’m not in a hurry to sell them off. Feeding is not the issue , I feed them well these days . My birds are the biggest currently at my poultry farm. I have neighbors who are into poultry too.

I can’t give a price yet on the amount I’m going to sell them except till next month When I see the market price. Where I am people are selling their birds for 7k- 10k currently .

Wow!!!
Lovely. What's their consumption like? And what are you feeding them with presently?
Thank you sir. They feed mainly on water leaves and little finisher.
I will give them grower from next week.
They are now eating better than before, but not quite much, but they don't get tired of food like the broilers are doing, no matter how full their crop is, if the see you coming with water leaves, they run fast to welcome you

good afternoon bosses in the house.... initially when I started poultry farming, it looks promising but now I don't seem to understand what's going on.

I used to buy finisher feed (top feed) for 4,150 but now it's 4750 in my area, plus it's even scarce! is there something I can do to cut this feeding cost? how did/are you guys tackling it in your farm?? @ sir jidestroud, noeloge82 and many others...

Sorry I couldn't reply this yesterday I was banned by anti span bolt for no reason @seun , @ farmtech , @ pavore9 pls I don't really understand the reason behind d ban if any if u can explain it will be great

Feed cost is on the raise cos high cost of some materials in some state it no supply cos of no transportation during the protest but if ur birds are responding in size to the feeding u may not have much to fear as prices of Christmas birds will reflect present day feeding cost
But if u in a locality that pegs prices without corresponding reality on ground the best is to sell off as soon it reaches the prevailing market demand of your Area

Hello everyone!
My birds have swollen crop and they sometimes breath heavily (most times in the afternoon).
This putrid smell coming from their cage is another issue I have noticed.
I'm a newbie. Bosses in the house please help me.
I've got 15 broilers and about 7 have an abnormaly big crop...

.
Thank you sir, I'll keep updating you .

I planned to buy more to make them 20 in total and rear them till maturity and sell them off.
someone told me I can sell them at 3-6 months. But I'll like to keep them for a year with my local turkeys
Greetings,
Please where/how can I get foreign turkey?
Day old or not more than 4 weeks old. I need about 4 to 8, depending on the cost.

Thanks for your help.

Please anyone here in Lagos? where do you buy feeds from. It's really very scarce here. I go from Ketu to Ikorodu to get. Yesterday I went they said they do not have. I had to source for little local feed to feed my birds.

Addresses in Lagos where I can get quality feed will be very much appreciated.

Most poultry stuff in Lagos can be bought from Agege although it maybe far from you but plan ahead and buy bulk
