Overwhelming crowd of Rivers people storm state secretariat to submit application letters for the 5,000 job vacancies announced by Rivers State Government.

why not create a website and ask people to submit it online, why paper submissions when the world have pass this analog process...

Thats the same way they did in the last RSUST recruitment and it ended in scams and tears...

At this age and time this method of manual application with overwhelming crowd is still being used.

With the Covid pandemic we are currently facing the government deemed it fine to accept applications through this method.

What happens to submitting application via online process? We still have archaic and outdated leaders helming the affairs of the country.

Why are they wasting people's time and meager resources? The job slot has been shared among stakeholders and party stalwarts in all the 23 LGA of the state since last week. And the number they actually need is 500, why inflate to 5000? God help us.

There is nothing wrong with the number of persons indicating interest as shown at the venue. The Job is for 500 people and it will be a healthy job selection process to have a success/failure ratio of 1:2. My concern is the method of submission of application which should have been online. Kudos to Wike on this.

The applicants will be treated without dignity.

They will in turn get the civil service jobs and treat the public without dignity.

Why cant these young ones take up insurance agency work.
There's so much untapped resources in that industry for any serious person to grab.
I know some insurance agents whose commissions on a bad month is in excess of 500k
I will advise young pple especially to look in this direction

If there's one thing I honestly love about the igbos, it is their Apprenticeship system it has really favoured them a lot. I wish more and more people can practice that system instead of wasting time and money waiting for a white or blue collar job.

Non indegenes in that queue should not waste their time, those jobs are strictly indegenes

The amount of unemployment in rivers state is very high but most people would never believe.

In rivers state the unemployment is so high that ikwerre people are beginning to run to Lagos, in the past it was very hard to see an ikwerre man outside rivers state.

Wike is a politician not an economist so he doesn't really know about how to solve the problem.
