Zimbabwe: An Economic Update? by AdvisorOpe: 10:18pm On Nov 10, 2020 |
From a peak of 837% inflation to 659%, Zimbabwe is targeting an inflation rate of 134% by year-end. This will sound absurd if your inflation reality is built around single digits. But it is hard not to appreciate this given the history of the nation. At some point, its currency got so useless the USD had to replace it. Yes, that bad. However, the new government seems to be ticking a lot of boxes—from reconciliation to currency reforms. I am optimistic that if reforms go as projected, it will open up a new haven for certain investment drives. AdvisorOpe: Robert Mugabe was their greatest leader ever. He redistributed the land to the black masses of the country despite evil western sanctions imposed on them for so doing, and now the country is recovering, this time, with an equitable land distribution status quo. The blacks at last have a stake in their own country. I suggest South Africa follows the same, or similar path, or they will forever remain slaves and second class citizens on their ancestral land. |

Rosskivvy: Lol. He took land from white farmers and gave to blacks who couldn't manage it. Production dropped to almost zero, their only source of forex was erased and hyper inflation started. That single move was the cause of Zimbabwe economic woes for years now. |

mployer: You also forgot to mention that the UK and US blocked trade with Zimbabwe world wide, and delisted their currency and under white rule Zimbabwe lead africa in infant malnutrition but considered it's self successful because the white children were eating. 1 Like |

mployer: You are a damn slave of BBC propaganda. How would the blacks have known how to 'manage it' when they were denied access to land ownership for over a century by thieving whites? Common sense dictates there would be a time lapse between their acquisition of the land and their optimal management of it. They have turned the corner now, and are managing their land a lot better which accounts for their improving economy. There was no other way to do it, unless you are suggesting they should have just left the land to the whites indefinitely, which is the solution for a dumb slave. Not Zimbabweans. It's like an armed robber stealing the car your father bought for you before you were able to drive. When you want to get the car back the robber says, ''Ah! but you don't know how to drive, so let me keep using it, while you walk forever.'' ''No. Give me back my car, and I will learn slowly how to drive it, even if I bash it a few times while learning. It is MINE!'' I don't know why many of you Nigerians turn to MUMUS when dealing with issues concerning white people. If it was Hausas that had stolen your lands and learnt how to 'manage it' over a century, you would never accept the reason that ''oh they know how to manage it better than us, so let them have it.'' Instead you would fight tooth and nail to regain your land from them. But it's whites, so your brain goes into hibernation and you turn to mumu. Why? |

Re: Zimbabwe: An Economic Update? by Rosskivvy: 3:46am On Nov 11, 2020 |
Esseite: Explain. If Hausas had stolen your land and learnt to manage it over a century of ownership, would you allow them to continue owning your land indefinitely, while you remained landless peasants, on the basis that they could manage it better than you? You know the answer to that. A big fat NO. So why would you let whites do that? |

Rosskivvy: Erm, they've had just 2 leaders since independence so I don't know about that comparison. He got them into the ditch to start with |
Re: Zimbabwe: An Economic Update? by Rosskivvy: 3:55am On Nov 11, 2020 |
Yankee101: You are reasoning through your anus. The people that ''got them into a ditch'' were the European thieves and robbers who went there to steal their land and mass murder their ancestors. Mugabe tried to correct that historical atrocity and injustice, and the robbers' descendants imposed cruel economic sanctions on them, hoping to crush their economy. But they forgot that God is with the Zimbabwean people. |
