mans here was an avid follower of Nonye's NYSC story on this forum..and finally got posted to do mine at the same place.


this Camp thing is stressful. just finished some part registration i.e bank, platoon number collection, kit collection, medical fitness certificate check (the guy in charge just dey bust everybody dey go. seems almost half the camp guys "runs" their medical fitness certificate)


we Are supposed to get ready for parade now, but I'm trying to skip that, can't even feel what's left of my legs after the "chancing, jump queue, fight for spaces on the chairs" that took place some half hour ago.

Lagos camp is not ideal camp...it is a place for ajjebutters ....come to iseyin camp ...you will see nature at work ....

Nysc camp fun and frustrating at same time but it was an opportunity worth everything because it avails one to see life from a different perspective.

Platoon 5! I was in 5 too during my time. I joined OBS and dogged all the dodgeables as a result.

they served rice and fish tonight. got there 10 mins after they announced and mans met 2000 Spartans queuing for the food. mad ting, yeah..lol.

people just dey troop dey form line, girls and boys....wawu. moved fast tho, but that crowd...if na beans, e no go reach 500 people, sure die.

Lol. The only time we were ever this many on the queue was on Sunday afternoon when they served jollof rice and one piece of very hard chicken. On beans and eba days we were usually less than 200 on the line because the soup was just plain AWFUL, and the beans, hard and watery at the same time.

Nice diary. But this poa stuff, I thought it's nysc or the government that assigns you to a place. Is it compulsory you look for a company or organisation of your choice?

nysc will always give you a PPA, but most times it's either 1. the PPA is a dead place. 2. they will be paying you 5k or they won't even accept you.

reason I did my service in Lagos, had enough connections here for me.

congrats to the batch B guys, enjoy your time there, but seriously start thinking of the outside when you either get eaten by your fellow Corp members or you make your path yourself.

and if you can make connects at camp, great. Just don't depend so much on the guys you meet there, everybody too is looking for their own way in the outside world and this Corona spoilt plenty things, PPA rejecting corpers, some accepting but offering pay that won't even scratch your butt for you.


take it easy on the "I want to work on the island" craze.

rent for Lagos no be the same for Ibadan or anywhere else. so that should be stuck at the back of your head as one serves here. Sha enjoy. not sure how easy it's gonna be to dodge activities this time around with fewer people in camp but if you can dodge, I'd strongly advise you do so.


the sun coming out these days is diabolical, don't fry yourself underneath it.

general replies to the questions asked.

yes. the maami market na top notch extortionist market. a plastic drink of 100# outside goes for 150#. bottled water goes for 60#.

slim fitting goes for 500# for each piece of clothing...so that's 1k for both.

use a photo card or something, your school should have given you before you went for camp.

Lagos Camp is one of the best if not the Best in Nigeria. that's all i can say, if you've passed through that camp, you'll understand.

...5 girls came out. the other platoons were looking at us with surprise, like "shey these ones no get boys nii abii". a girl in the platoon then looked back and hissed, "nawa oo....what should we call you people now", she pointed at us.

"we are men. we don't do this", I tried cracking a joke. next thing, one babe with pink close cropped hair just sparked "which men?...nonsense men".

I looked back like "what the hell". she stared back at me, daring me to come back with a retort. I just smiled and turned back.


we finished the drills. basically back where we started which is the "these ones don't know how to March" level...which wasn't so bad considering the ones that claimed to know how to March making a mockery of themselves in front of the whole crowd.

That lady on pink needs your dick. I hope your are handsome and have some money to spend. Woo her and take her to mami market. Na she go be your camp bitch.
