Several senate committees have oversight functions on Nigerian Police Force, Nigerian custum. That's principles of seperation of powers

Google the meaning of oversight

Google the CBN act and come back here to clear this trash

CBN is supposed to operate as an independent agency but that is only on paper in Nigeria. The same CBN where the governor sells dollar to politicians at special rates or the one where children of connected people get appointments. Is that the independent CBN? CBN that cannot make independent monetary policy decisions instead is always toeing the line of what the Presidency wants?
Keep deceiving yourself and your gullible followers

"Repentant" terrorists this year got fed and clothed like Kings, were given a hero's welcome and released back to their communities serving no punishment for their crimes.

Unsurprisingly they went back to their villages to kill again.
https://www.nairaland.com/6023536/repentant-boko-haram-member-kills

It seems terrorists who fight to destroy Nigeria get treated better then those who fight to fix Nigeria.

Niger delta terrorists also got fed and cloth like kings not only that, they were given scholarships abroad and many former niger delta terrorists general got juicy contracts.

No differences.

CBN is an independent agency not under Federal Government get education, I mean proper education on how government works

And anybody with suspicious transaction usually to the tune of $10,000 get flagged by banks, while CBN goes to court to get a court order to get the account frozen pending the determination of the source

Even very uneducated people should know all this...

Akeredolu's stance is an unpopular one but thought provoking. We need more people like him who aren't afraid to speak their minds nor swayed by popular mob sentiments into toeing the line of anarchists. I like his candour.
What is the essence of freezing their account? Did you ask yourself? Were you in space during the NDDC saga when the acting MD embezzled billions of Naira and yet walked free? Was his account frozen? Poverty of the mind. That indeed is your problem.

You asked how the government is pampering terrorists and I answered, now you're bringing another example of government pampering another set of terrorists to justify pampering the new set.

CBN not under d federal government? And u accusing someone else of not being educated? In terms of CBN flagging people's accounts, what were d actual amount of funds that made way into d accounts of these protesters that necessitated d freezing? Based on ur theory, y has d CBN not been able to flag Boko Haram sponsored bank accounts?

NB: I thought d issue with d endsars protesters accounts wasn't necessarily because of d amounts involved but because of d narration which indicated d purpose for which d funds were meant for?
Re: Akeredolu: Nothing Wrong In Freezing EndSARS Protesters' Accounts by Jaysleeves(m): 3:46pm On Nov 11, 2020
CBN should start questioning the bourdilon bullion van lord too and also Collaborate with financial agency and investigate, various persons accuse of funding insurgence. Just last week the UAE release names of allege sponsors of insurgent in Nigeria and nothing was done, Armed bandit and herdsmen are still yet to be tag terrorrist, despite's the various killings committed. Yet someone is saying rubbish.
Re: Akeredolu: Nothing Wrong In Freezing EndSARS Protesters' Accounts by phineas: 3:47pm On Nov 11, 2020
Nigerians are pretentious lawbreakers who do not want any accountability

If funds where collated in an activity that caused widespread chaos in the country, loss of lives of security officials, looting and widespread destruction of Goverment and non Goverment properties .The accounts MUST be FROZEN,and investigated pending when the organizers can prove beyond reasonable doubt their actions were not sponsored by the enemies of the State

That said anyone saying the organizers should not be investigated is an unserious clown. At this stage they should be praying to avoid serious prosecution cause I am sure no police gave them approval to gather and protest where they did,so their protest Abinitio was unlawful

Understand this, by using that venue (a major access road)their protest was never peaceful from the onset,it was malicious and designed to cause the breakdown of law and order. If the Goverment decides to make examples of them to forestall such in future, the Goverment is well within its right.

That said fingers crossed.we all are watching closely

And they call this man a SAN! Smh embarassed
It's is elementary law that 'he who alleges must prove it". The CBN is alleging that the account holders have committed a crime (to wot "terrorism", according to them), so they need to prove this allegation! As a matter of fact, they should have adduced sufficient evidence to back up their claim before the judge issued the order to freeze the accounts. But like we do here in Nigeria, a government or security agency will arrest you first, charge you to court and get an order to remand you in prison, then proceed to start looking for evidence to prosecute you, tell me, which sane or responsible society does that?!! undecided

You young people know nothing of Governance in Nigeria and you want to run.You all need to intern in one ministry or the other before opening your mouths in public on Governance.

The number of accounts in Nigeria that have been frozen in the last 4 years at a point became worrisome.Peoples accounts have been frozen for reasons of suspicion of corruption or money laundering and many including the big wigs of society and average Joe's are affected

Also for those with transfer above their usual limits, their accounts get frozen.even you can report a person for fraud and get an injunction to freeze his account pending resolution of the matter. So whats special about the end SARS people that their accounts cannot be touched

When the second wave of wahala will come, grammar will not help us in this country...better let sleeping dogs lie. The youths are tired, if e happen today, I'm sure some won't have nothing to lose. The government should better focus on providing social steady amenities for the populace(which at this stage is a shame to keep repeating).
No go slap pikin wey cry dey hungry because when kasala burst, you no go fit wedge am o."
The government should do the right thing and the youths will leave them alone. Is that too much to ask? Haba!

Another one to educate.I have some time for you kids this afternoon. Its called UWO. unexplained wealth order. That's the name of an executive order signed by your president i think 2 years ago.its a regulation to guide investigation of proceeds of crime

It places the imperative to explain the source of funds on the individual and not Goverment investigating

Its used in many developing country which is why the IRS can call you to explain the source of your money abroad if you live above your means. You get it now right?

That means they freeze your account or invite you during an investigation till you explain the source of the money satisfactorily

CBN flagged transaction irregularities as being done on all accounts, not EFCC or any Direct FG agency
Irregularities that cbn has alleged to and even FG confirmed that the account were frozen cz it supports peaceful protests embarked upon by youths who are tired of living in abject poverty, penury, unemployment, malicious killings, insecurity, government corruption and debt borrowing by the govt?if u are a youth posterity and karma will judge you for backing evil.

you are the only ignorant person here, if the federal government think they have comitted a crime by protesting, they should go to court. And you are talking about law, i hope you guys know we are not using sharia law here in the south or you have modified the constitution to ban protest?

the federal government should stop cowardice witch hunting, and i'm very sorry i quoted you because i dont quote lunatics.

The cbn got court injunction to freeze the accounts. They're gagging the public in connivance with some accessories in the judicial arm

I marvel at the ineptitude of most commentators on this honorable platform; seeing how some people spew unimaginable is mind blowing. It begs to really question what we call education in this part of the world and how enslaved an average Nigerian young mind really is.

If the apex bank can go about freezing bank accounts of the citizens on the allegations funding terrorist activities, what then is the essence of the KYC that the bank does? why has any of the individuals whose banks accounts were frozen been arraigned for involvements in terrorist activities? what evidence was given by the apex bank to the court for the court to grant the injunction without consultations?

It's really mind-boogling that after 60 years, we can be this stoooopid as a nation and keep exhibiting shameful acts in the public domain. Terrorism is a global crime against humanity and it is a generally accepted fact that terrorists are not people to associate with. why then has the government (CBN) not prosecuted the concerned fellows? we all saw the way UAE prosecuted some Nigerians in Dubai for funding terrorist activities. It shows what a well-meaning govt does to these unscrupulous fellows.

If the owners of the account frozen are indeed terrorists or have any terrorist affiliations, let the CBN prosecute them as such, otherwise, they should stop disgracing themselves.

It is a pity that after 60 years, we have journeyed backwards and not forward.

#EndBadGovernance

You need an education on Governance in Nigeria.Nigeria has her own laws and regulations and it is been followed. If you don't like it,sponsor a bill to change it.dont burn your State down like a spoilt brat.e.g the end SARS protesters
