OK Prof, thanks for the guidance, I am grateful for your work, Thank so much.
wip7:

Good day,

I can understand what you are going through. In a normal sense, the reputable open-access publishers should generally don't publish accepted manuscripts unless they receive the APC. For them to have published it without following that well-known or established step, means they are more of a predatory journal.

First, as I have earlier warned against publishing in this journal and my reasons are:

------I never for once pay to publish any research work (it makes no economic sense to me); rather I get paid by my university and government for publishing my hard labored results. ......You should avoid paying to publish even is 1$.

--------I don't publish in low-quality journals; I am a well-respected scientist so I don't allow low-quality and predatory journals tarnish my profile or dent my research work..........avoid such journal as wells; hence, consider doing quality work to get it published in high-quality journals.

---- I don't publish in journals without verifiable metrics; this particular journal has no impact factor and not in any well-known reputable database; so desist from such.

Because; they seem to share the APC with the editor that handled and other production teams; hence, they need your money rather than the quality of your work. In most cases: the papers published in these types of predatory journals often tend to provide false and/or invented data based on research that has never been conducted; however, readers are not always aware of this. You don't need them to market your published work; if your work is quality enough with citable data; other researchers will cite your work and you will get good citations.

Considering my interpretation: Bad debt list means a container of debtors for an expense that the business incurs and the payment is estimated to be uncollectible.

The implication is likely that you may be requested to pay for your upcoming APC before processing your manuscript in that journal and also tagged to repay the earlier debt before publishing with them. Meanwhile, this only affects this publisher. I will encourage you to never publish in this type of predatory (yahoo-yahoo) journals. Consider publishing you work in subscription top-quality journals from Elsevier, Taylors, and Springer, Willey than these low-quality predators.

No, it will never damage your academic career or reputation. You have not killed someone, engage in academic dishonesty, cheated someone, fabricated data, stolen research funds, or used false research outputs, etc. Those are what damages academic profiles not bad debts from yahoo-yahoo publishers.

Write to them, that you expected them to receive the APC before they publish your accepted manuscript, due to the current pandemic situation your university cannot avoid funding the APC. Refer to the fact that you have requested for a high discount, however, since no discount and they published your manuscript without waiting for the APC, you don't have money to pay or you will pay in the future if your situation improves. For the time being, let them know that if the APC will not let them market your published work, that you will market it yourself.

Nothing serious. If they threaten you ....you should also threaten them. They are not doing you a favor so why threat?

Notice for upcoming Drug Dealers and Yahoo/Cyber Criminals

Cyprus is mainly for studies, the environment is relatively peaceful and nice for those coming for studies. Some fraudulent Africans always spoil the image of their countries due to their greed and illegal ways of life. This often leads to the host community to develop hatred, racist acts, and single-out nationals polluting their environment with drugs and cybercrimes.

Please just stop.....the prison in Cyprus is not friendly and why would you want to create a bad image for others due to your greed?

Sorry you need to read this well, One of your agents in TRNC Did this to this Poor boy. He can’t be a drug dealer since he’s coming as a fresh student. They tell student to bring this and that for them when coming to TRNC! This is the Result!

Speak the TRUTH!

IF you have visa, the following airlines can take passengers going to TRNC: Egypt-air, Emirate, Qatar airways and Air Maroc... you can check their websites or visit travel agents.

Most of the universities in TRNC for MSc nursing runs it in Turkish language.

Also, it may be hard to admit you into MSc due to the fact that your undergrad is coming from different programs. There are many courses in undergrad nursing that will be a prerequisite for you..

As a student, you can travel to Cyprus after you receive a visa from the Turkish embassy of the country you are located while some national don’t need a visa to come to North Cyprus ....so I don’t know your nationality to answer this specific question.

If your friend is holding passport from country that does not need visa to south Cyprus then he can fly to south and cross the border by a Taxi...that’s what I do when am going to Some countries.

Otherwise if your friend is holding passport from country that requires visa to south Cyprus....then he cannot fly to south Cyprus with north Cyprus visa and if no refund from the airline then the money has entered voice mail.

He should buy a new ticket to TRNC.

Nigerian passport holder must have a visa to come to TRNC as national regulation.

However, Turkish airline only allows students from certain country to come to TRNC after they verify through admission and immigration file that such traveler is a prospective student and has paid the fees to the university..so that way you may travel without a visa but with OKTB (OK-to-board) to TRNC.

Note: OKTB is not a visa but just a permission that the traveler can board the airline meanwhile such passenger will be subjected to the same immigration policies if visa holder during entry; meaning can Ben allowed entry or refused entry depending on the concerned entry Officer.

In recent times, many students used OKTB without an hassle.

And yes from Dubai you can use OKTB; I had few African residents that have traveled to TRNC for studies and came in through OKTB in recent semesters.

Are you coming to EMU? master or PhD student? Sciences/chemical based? I have just gotten a great news. My project funding 1.5 million TL has been approved by Turkish goverment just few hours ago. This funding will pay entire fees of 3 PhD students and 2 master students working in the exact research theme. PhD students will have monthly salary of 4500 TL and project last for 2 years although renewable depends on progress.

I have contributed largely and positively to this thread of dedicated researchers, my aim is to guide upcoming African and support them via training and am very happy that I have numbers of students who graduated from my lab doing super great in various developed nations:

If you are graduate student and would love to benefit intelectually via research based: EMU and Turkish goverment have supporting packages aimed towards upcoming and dedicated researchers.

Hello sir pls I will be interested in this

Hey sir, please I'll be coming to CIU by February next year hopefully to study BSc English. I'll be applying in January. Will I still make it in time for d spring semester? And secondly, I only have my WAEC statement of result from my secondary school and not the actual WAEC certificate from d board. I went to the office and I was told it wasn't ready. So can I go ahead and authenticate d statement of result? Will it be accepted at the point of entry and by the school? Because I plan on using OK to board to fly in. Thanks.

Admission for next semester opens already so you can apply before January, pay your fees and get ready. You will be admitted with the verified WAEC result ( supply with your scratch card).

Why you don’t want to go to embassy to apply for visa ?

OK thanks. I may not go for visa because I don't think if I apply in January, it will be ready. I'll apply though but just in case, I can use OKTB to come over, right? By verified WAEC result, what do u mean? Like a print out from the website which can be checked with scratch card?

Can I use oktb to arrive if I don't get the visa in time? I'll be applying by third week of January, that's why I'm asking. Thanks. And about the WAEC result, can I bring the authenticated statement of result from my school along with a print out from the WAEC site and a scratch card to verify? Will that be enough?
