Hoverboy27: The data suggests otherwise. Nigeria used to have visa free status to the UK and getting a Visa to the USA was a walk in the park. This was during the time of our grandparents. Of course, Nigeria had so much money and was growing rapidly. So much money that Gowon said they didnt know what to do with money. A lot of people who didnt take the chance to migrate then regret it absolutely today. Many of them still have their kids dependent on them down to even their late 30s. During Obasanjo's tenure albeit low oil prices we had an economic growth of around 7 to 10 percent annually. This led to a lot of Nigerians in the diaspora returning to set up businesses and buy properties. Lekki was developed extensively during this period. Fast forward to today. We became the world's poverty capital. India that has a population 5 times the size of Nigeria has less people in extreme poverty than us. Insecurity today is so high, you cannot travel the roads in the north without fear of being kidnapped or killed. Nigeria also has an inflation rate of above 30 percent annually. Very dangerous to any nation. All of this factors have led to increased migration. If Nigeria had a per capita income of lets say 10000 USD, a GDP growth rate of 6 to 10 percent yearly. Migration would be very low and we would have a lot of diasporan Nigerians returning enmass. 8 Likes 1 Share |

Just to add that you should never trust data from Nigeria. Our corrupt government will happily submit a false data in order to keep receiving loans and benefits from UN, WHO, IMF etc. When last did we even do population census? But they can provide data on living standard. Believe data from Nigeria at your own risk tensazangetsu20: |

This reminds me. Brazil is too white, despite all the mixed race people. Lame and boring. Boring and lame. The best part of it is Bahia state, which is predominantly black. That said, black Brazilian musicians are *chef kiss*. Black Brazilian women are gooorgeous. They really are lovely. 1 Like |

Hoverboy27: The dude is right so are you too but gave it a different meaning. In simple terms, citizens of rich, functioning, well/partly developed countries do not see the need to relocate because of those factors. Meanwhile, citizens of dysfunctional, underdeveloped and poor countries are always on the hunt for emigration. It's human nature. For instance, why should a typical Korean have a passport hunting for emigration when everything is in Korea? At most, the person travels to Japan, China, Singapore and the US - all developed and rich societies. Simply because he has everything in Korea. If Nigeria becomes as rich as Malaysia, our visa free status will improve. Such privileges aren't given to poor countries. DRC's passport is visa free to 41 countries. Nigerian? 46. Botswana? 85. Malaysia? 140+. Brazil? 165+. It sucks to be poor, dysfunctional and underdeveloped. 4 Likes |

I strongly believe that even if Nigeria develops like US, people will still want to emigrate. Inferiority complex will make them believe that outside is better. It’s not always about underdevelopment or poverty, but the MENTALITY, or WICKED MINDSET or UNNECESSARY GREED. Mali is poor Congo is poor Togo is poor Chad is poor some African countries are even poorer than Nigeria, but how many times do you hear about their citizens eloping? Or how many times have you seen statistics of migration and you saw their citizens? Or you read that police arrested their citizens for illegal immigration? But there’s no statistics map you will check and not see Nigeria. Not possible. Gerrard59: 1 Like |

Hoverboy27: Numbers. Nigeria is more populated, 1 out 5 Africans is a Nigerian. Remove the North Africans and it can increase to 3. If Nigeria develops to the level of the US, emigration will drop drastically. It's everywhere. How many Japanese, Malaysians, Koreans, Singaporeans, French etc., are actively emigrating from their homelands? Maslow Hierarchy of Needs answers it all. Nigeria(ans) is/are at the bottom which is why traits associated with that level are displayed by Nigerians. 5 Likes |

jesmond3945: If you are a good traveller , then you know nothing about Brazil , firstly never you compare a country with your background and way of life . Never you judge a country base on hearsay . My wife and daughter lives in Brazil . What you become in Brazil depends on your personality and environment . Brazil is not an English speaking country so you should be ready to face the language barrier . My wife only speaks English and Swahili but after getting to Brazil she enroll into government free language classes . Now she speaks Portuguese fluently . Theirs not country without struggling times , the New president is exactly a clone version of trump in Brazil . Please where in Nigeria would a citizen get free medical operation with several scanning that worth 5million for free . Where is Nigeria would a school send palliative and money for pupils nutrition. Where in Nigeria would your child receive free govt support and milk almost everyday at your door steps . My daughter has free 3 school wears , 2 nice pairs converse and 6 pairs of socks . Where in Nigeria would labor union fight for an individual for work abuse . Brazil labor system is far the best than any African country . They do have their struggling times but not for foreigners who’s focus and hard working . Truly most Brazilians are lazy due to government support programs but as a foreigner remain focus and never divert from your dreams . Getting married to Brazilian or giving birth in Brazil gives you PR( permanent Resident ) . Nobody dey force anyone to stay back ... if the Nigeria system aren’t working for you abeg draft your plans and move . No allow anyone to talk you down . If you live outside naija Na then you go understand say our beloved country don dey in mess with greedy politicians . Accountability Na 0 , infrastructure Na 0 transparency Na 0 . I also forgot to add. Schooling in Brazil is completely free for foreigners. You pay absolutely nothing but all their universities offer masters programs in Portuguese. University of Sao Paulo has only 3 master programs in english. Other universities have none. 5 Likes |

Silver247:Almost impossible from Nigeria. You need to go and learn Portugese and write the vistabular which is the Brazilian equivalent of the SATs. It's very very difficult. All students take the same core courses whether you are going for law or engineering you write the same courses. |

Fallawx:all the things you mentioned are the beautiful side to any country. If I mention the beautiful things in Nigeria you will marvel. So let me do that All my kids were given birth in a Nigerian hospital without me paying a dime through the NHIS scheme. Many of my lecturers enjoyed the Federal Mortgage scheme and other mortgage programmes where they are living in their own houses and paying mortgage as obtainable in the developed world. I would tell you this if you want to enjoy Nigeria, you need two things; information and connection. Many Nigerians don't want to get information of where everything is happening, they stay in their comfort zone and complain all day. Do you know that their are so many loans schemes available for Nigerians but we are too lazy to tap into them. Their is free money in this country but ignorance, hate and laziness would not allow us latch into them. Thank God your wife and daughter is safe in brazil but I can tell you this many people in that country don't have that luxury, they can be shot anytime. Infact the bloodshed in brazil is so much that it is even documented in a website hoodsite dot com. Where in the world do you butcher people, butcher dogs, rape women, dehumanize children: Brazil 1 Like |

jesmond3945:what is the percentage of Nigerians benifiting from NHIS scheme? Mortgage for lecturers? When my uncle a Senior lecturer in a Federal institution is living in a rented flat for the past 8 years, not to talk of their salaries that has not been paid this year. Okay Brazil is full of crime, but how many brazilians pay ransom to Kidnappers? Guy bone that Gist! Naija don cast finish you can never defend a country that hoard palliatives meant for the poor and even share it as souvenirs in Birthday parties. Its obvious u are also a beneficiary od the corrupt system. Imagine a Nigerian complaining about insecurity and Torture, please go to any police station close to you, you will know what torture means. In a sane environment you dont need to know anybody to have a job or obtain loans, this mentality is exactly what is killing this country. In this era sef Connection pass connection For Nigeria. aumeehn:if you are a worker and paying your tax, health insurance is available for you. Your uncle should go to his bursary unit and collect the Mortgage form or if he is an ASUU member, he should join their cooperative and get a plot of land and start building. How many brazilians have been butchered whether innocent or not innocent? Those guys carry guns like pure water. They have the heart of an animal just like Nigerians except the skin colour. Brazil is a beautiful country no doubt, good government but their crime is so organized that you can be killed any time. Infact your safer in Naija than some places in brazil. Please go to hoodsite dot com, the owner of that site is a blessing to you Op. Do you know that prostitution is very much legal, people having sex on the street like rabid dogs. Nigeria has bad government, thats the only problem we have. See my brother, the only problem I have with Brazil is the bloodhsed over there, which I am warning the Op about. He can go and see things for himself. Is thier no place that connection is not important, even in Uk their is connection, even USA their is connection. Go and be the chief of staff in usa without connection. See without connection in the developed world na burger you go dey flip so 1 Like |

jesmond3945:Senior lecturer for over 8 years dont know about Mortgage and cooperative? I have never been to brazil but i know that as far as you have valid papers you are entitled to free healthcare. How many people in Nigeria work with the government and other big private companies that enroll them on NHIS? Prostitution is only illegal on paper in Nigeria. Prostitutes are everywhere in this country especially now that there's poverty in the land. Interms of insecurity you cant compare Nigeria with Brazil. jesmond3945: Wow I do really appreciate your write-up but my brother you stated clearly lecturers not common citizens of zero degree . Secondly living in Brazil depends on your personality and your environment . There are hoodlums and crazy gangster setup in every developed countries yet they do have a reformed system to become a better person . Do you know the Brazilian government gives stipends if you got no job to support their unemployed citizens . You can only got denied of such benefit if your name is dirty either by drug or alcohol addiction . For the health insurance scheme , it only works for the opulent or middle class categories . How do you make that baba Eleran and iya onisu understand they can take loans without going through hell . Even the Napo loan is a killer . Do you know the stress Nigerian farmers are going through every season's , the level of corruptions and greediness wouldn’t make things work . The free fertilizers scheme is a scam . The govt needs to do more better . Are you aware that the Nigerian govt is taking a loan of $1.2billion from the Brazilian govt . We never finish paying the China and other European project loans . 4 Likes |

Davidehigie00: Davidehigie00:For Google translate for Brazilian portuguese in English. My english is not perfect for complete translate. "The undergraduate diploma must be revalidated by a public Brazilian university, regularly accredited and maintained by the Government, which has a recognized course of the same level and area or equivalent. First, it is necessary to apply for revalidation at a public higher education institution in Brazil. The documentation to be presented will vary according to the type of processing to be performed by the higher education institution. The student must pay a fee for the cost of administrative expenses. The fee is not fixed in advance by the National Education Council or the Ministry of Education, and may vary from institution to institution. The deadline for the university to comment on the request for revalidation of undergraduate diplomas through regular processing is up to 180 days and for simplified processing is up to 60 days, counting from the date of delivery of the necessary documentation. Brazil has no automatic revalidation / recognition agreement for higher-level diplomas with any country. Therefore, the rules are the same for all countries. The Ministry of Education created a specific portal on the topic with detailed information - the Carolina Bori Platform. Therefore, for more information and to apply online via the universities that joined the portal, you can access it here. (Portuguese site. I have never run into a Botswanan,Rwandan or Namibian in all my travels. They have vast opportunities in the country and see hope with the progressive leadership that rules their nation. Unlike Nigeria who are waiting for Buhari to leave in 2023, only to be replaced by Orji Kalu,Tinubu or Atiku in 2023. |
