Hello people,
This is probably the most random question lol...
please is it advisable to buy your ticket and things you need to take with you when you get PPR or you have to wait till you get your passport back?
Is there any possibility that you can get rejected even after PPR?
Abeg o, I'm just curious grin

They've started Nigeria Student Express? That's interesting. Based on what is here, you have to generate a MyBankStatement ticket with proof of finance for one year and then enroll for IELTS. However, as this is a choice, you could opt for normal processing.

Top of the day to everyone on here
I've been a constant follower of this great thread.
Straight to my question, for about over a year now, I've been seeking for supervisor for my MSC application (Animal Science) with no positive yet. I however applied to University of Manitoba September this year(without a supervisor) for summer 2021, last week I was approved for admission with a clause of getting a supervisor before Jan 1. Anyone who can guide me as to what I've been doing wrong or what I should be doing cos I'm still mailing with no response yet ..
Thanks

Hi

Actually, getting a supervisor is a big job. Your dedication, interest and commitment to achieve this aim will be tested. But, don't falter. If you don't give up, it will happen.

I supposed you have a great CGPA, publication, paper presentation, conference attendance experience, a well composed CV, and a winning proposal. These documents, garnished with your transcript are the stuffs that will sell you.

Make sure you sell yourself as an erudite student with Corr interest in working with your targeted supervisor.

Things you should know:
Your first point of contact email should be free from error, it should be concise and direct, and on top of that, make sure each email is customized.
If you are targeting a single school, like in your case, don't send mass messages to all the prof. Again, customize your email, read the publication of the Prof and align your interests to matches his or her own.
Boost about your past achievement and how it will motivate you be crucial to his or team.
Attach brief document, CV, transcript, and I advice you to consider showcasing your academic profile on Google scholar, research gate, etc and share the link in your first message.

Finally, myself and many other people have written several posts about ways to get supervisor. Help yourself to read backwards.

Good luck!

Thank you, but I didn’t ask for any student express, why do you see the need to opt for normal processing ?
How do I get the Mybankstatement ticket ? Is there a need to add more money to the account like 2-3m ?

Hi, if you use GTB, you can generate the stuff via their app. I don't think you need 2-3m more, but then, since you are staying 4 years there, they would want to see 1 year of your bank statement to be able to determine if you have;
1. First year tuition fee
2. 10k cad for living expense; and
3. If you can pay tuition and L.E. for subsequent years.

It's obvious you didn't ask for it. I didn't even know it has started until you shared this message. If you don't have the money and time to write the IELTS exam, my suggestion is that you should opt for normal processing (note that they may have a minimum band score).

You can generate the MyBankStatement from your online banking account or by visiting a branch. You'll get a print out that you can attach to your application. I'd strongly caution against sudden additional deposits. Don't complicate things.

Cool cool. They are yet to start reviewing eligibility still.

From the evidence from those that submitted their passports upper week, we can establish that the process will take like 3 weeks minimum. Those that got notifications from VFS yesterday that their passports have been dispatched from the High Commission are yet to receive same...

My point is you can buy a ticket against first week in December...that is, if you don’t want to wait till you collect your stamped passport physically...

God bless.

Greetings house! Please I need your advice.

Had BSc. Agric Engineering (second class lower) in 2005
Been self employed since graduation
Now 40years, married with wife(no kids yet)
Desire now to relocate to Canada through study route since that will be faster
Currently living in my own personal house.

What post grad program do you suggest? Or will just Diploma make sense?

I desire IT though but will there be a possibility of being granted visa with a change to IT?

With my age, any hope for Visa? Possibility for my wife to join me?

Abeg my people, your input highly needed. Thanks.

Hello Robify01,

Keep to a course that best relates to your world experience and a program that demonstrates progression off the last. Age isn't necessarily an issue but could be if the study gap can't be reasonably justified. It may be well-suited for your profile if you put in a single application.

You should do some research on courses that interest you and which can easily be used to demonstrate good future prospects and career advancement.

All the best

I doubt. They were specific on IELTS. I don't think they'll even accept TOEFL.
