Why can't PDP make a South Easterner their presidential candidate and all the PDP governors both in North and the East lobby the Northern elders and traditional rulers to support the candidate just as they did to Jonathan.

There is nothing like marginalization except you marginalize yourselves. The senate president is enjoying the slot originally meant for South East after Saraki did same just because they didn't belong to the ruling party which is completely normal.

It pains me that South East Governors want to decamp to APC because it will block the chance of South West to clinch the presidential ticket.

Why can't APC make an Igbo person thier Presidential Candidate? that's the question for you to answer.

There's nothing wrong in that but the Igbos have to show some level commitments to the party by having sizable number as member.

There were no "sizeable" numbers of Yorubas in PDP when in 1999, they whole country felt the need to give your son the ticket fresh outta prisons! You guys are just desperate to muddle up everywhere hoping that will create a path to power since without power, you're actually like a fish out of water. Ekwueme led the group that went to Aso rock and told Abacha to hand over. That group transmuted into PDP. Everybody expected him to take over. Then when it was time to present a presidential candidate, the leaders of the country went into the prisons, brought out Obasanjo and gave him the ticket! We all accepted that and moved on. It was done because the country felt the Yoruba has been wronged over June 12. The igbos have been wronged too and the same way the Yorubas were brought in by a national compromise, the Igbo should be brought in by a national consensus.
