Very correct, if there is effective management of the available resources, restructuring will be useless, most state don't have much IGR to sustain a state, some will be malnourished and some will be well developed

you are, very right sir, if such happen we can then think of merging states, for better resources sharing, imaging this year alone around, june only IGR of just five state is more than the remaining 31 states, at the end of the days these state are,not pulling their wait rather than to expect federal allocation. it very dumb,

In 2015 the company I work with has 10 different company but as time goes on the MD, has to fold up some subsidiary that are,not making money,

if you check some states in USA, Nigeria is not even a size of some state,

when we talk of IGR, like in the South here we allow alcohol company because we,know that they will pay tax, but in the north they will say it against their religion fine am not disputing that if the South are now been developed by such tax generated from these company means everyone should face what benefit them

What exactly are you saying, is restructuring into regional resource management not a "proper management of resources"? Why making it look as if it's something else entirely. In a situation where different regions are saying they aren't getting as much attention from the center as they deserve, a new structure needs to be put in place to address that. That process is called restructuring. We can then go ahead to discuss the nitty gritties of the new structure.

You are educated, don't let these politicians play word tricks on you.
d way some people thinks puts Nigeria in a bigger problem... I have said D's too ...if d restructuring is properly done, there won't be marginalization..d kind of restructuring Nigeria needs now is regional based..d 36 states of Nigeria can be collapsed into our 6 geopolitical zones... which means d representation at d federal level should be collapsed into d regional structure.. dat time a Governor of a region will be a mini president,,while d head of each state under a region will be d office of d deputy to d regional Governor,,so one one regional Governor will have several deputies from each state,,our house of rep can become regional,,while each state will retain their house of Assembly structure.. at d federal level there would be just one legislative chamber(d senate)

You are the one talking of oil, Oil money is Federal Government investment, what sectors has your state created a comparative advantage for itself? What does your state produce that you have benefited from?, a Failure in Nigeria, will also be a Failure in any restructured state.

I disagree. You can't keep on doing same thing and expect a different result. The way Nigeria is structured today, it can never move forward with so many variables that cannot balance. We need to coalesce into groups with similar thought-process and idealogy, then work on ourselves with a common goal. How did we even arrive at current structure? By a military fiat! After 50 years it is clear that it is no longer tenable.

When leaders begin to speak from both sides of their mouth on important national issues such leaders could not be trusted any longer. The Vp has lost his credibility it is also shows that Buhari is against restructuring. Buhari govt should be patriotic enough to listen to the agitation for true federalism. Centralism and unitary system is what's killing Nigeria's social political system and its economy development. The unitary system has not worked for 50 years it can not work now or in the future. All developed economy practiced federal system of governance Nigeria should not be an exception. If we truly want development for the whole country let each state or region focus on revenue generation and not revenue sharing control at the centre.

The Vice President must think we all are fools.

He says the problem with Nigeria is not restructuring but managing resources effectively and providing for people.

Is that not what restructuring will seek to address?

It just seems like political office in Nigeria is a place where men with ideas and intellectual go to die no matter how great and educated they are.

Oshinbanjo your head needs to be examined from this nonsense old man. Why are these kind people occupying political positions?

They don't have the capability to persevere our political system. The system is entirely not balance.

The leaders representing the south haven't realized that they tend to gain more if we restructure. They are just self centered. What do they care as long as keep looting. Restructuring will limit billions of money disappearing. There will be total competition among them as positions will be limited. The cost of running this present system will drastically reduced. Evil leaders.

SUFFERInSMILIIN:

oil has never been the problem. The problem starts from Independence we got independence too early when most of us were illiterate. Please just look at it which one will Nigeria be more developed on a current part or on the part if we never got independence up to today. If we never got independence up to today Nigeria will be like Canada Australia or New Zealand. Because of our illiteracy mentality agreed we have to vote for ourselves this is why we are in this mess and all of us know in Nigerian can do nothing for us but we still go and vote for him

Now that we are relatively "literate" however we still think and behave like so called illiterates of the past. In fact, were they not better than today's wonderful leaders grin. See, we've refused to move forward and doesn't want to thinker with what is not working. We don't even understand ourselves after half a century of being forced together. We have showed enough patience, enough hope, enough faith in Nigeria but what we have failed repeatedly is to get to "work" on Nigeria.

If a sick patient complains that the first therapy is not working or has a side-effect, do you as a doctor keep on giving him same therapy hoping that the patient will heal? No, otherwise you will kill the patient. That's the situation of Nigeria.
