I went to a seminary boarding school, had difficult seniors and have been flogged numerous times but on I can't forget is when I was flogged by a seminarian who I never sure if na demon posses am

I was in ss3 and a sacristan in the chapel, that evening I was late in preparing a turible fire... The niga promised to give me 600 stroke with a four mouthed fan belt....

During supper he brought me in front of the school and started flogging me...well I received a lot without crying or yelling but when I couldn't I ran from the dining hall, it guy followed me and kept flogging

It was some staffs that saved my ass that night...but even if I had ran out during the flogging, the school still saw me with respect because they couldn't imagine how I received more than 100 before running

The niga still flogged me 32 the next morning
I have said this story a couple of times...nobody seems to believe me but I have more than 300 witnesses and scars on my back after years.....

When I was in JSS3, been a sport lover, so on a very bad day we went to football pitch to play in the name of PHE practical. Getting there, a teacher gave me his shirt to hold knowing fully well I also want to play with my classmate.

After the game, we went straight to the classes, he asked me for his cloth and I told him I gave it to someone and the person is coming.

I was the Head Boy of my school(Basic Acadmey) maiduguri. On this day, I opened the gate for my 3friends to escape during school period to buy something,never knew they had other plans of carrying babes n unfortunately a teacher coming to school late that day saw them in town n reported to the principal. I started crying from number one explaining I wasn't in class then. He wouldn't listen and when he got to my name, I wouldn't step forward, I was just crying. He skipped me however, my classmates abused me because there were junior students at the door peeping to see what was going on and many felt I embarrassed my myself.

The second one was in SS3 and it was just 2 strokes each. That was the only time I did not cry. We were asked to come out and were given 2 strikes each to return into class.

Hmm secondary school days , can I still remember

I always get flogged for reasons best known to the teachers , not because I'm stubborn but because of the company I roll with
I'm this calm and understanding student every teacher would love to mentor , but my love for comedy and lil funny jokes always get me into trouble
I'm a loner and I was living with my strict step sister and she was married with kids , I'm never punctual because I'll have to get the kids set for school and she goes to work early

I was given the post of an head boy but I refused cuz I'm never punctual , and once an head boy isn't in school, everybody must know lol

They later offered me the position of punctuality prefect I still reject them flog and force me tire

I was the only brilliant student in my crew , and I enjoyed their company cuz they're so funny , and that's how I get counted among them when trouble comes

There was this pretty Muslim lady that joined the ss2 set , we were ss3 students though , omo mehn no liver to approach this babe and I love her die
Sometimes when we're on break period and I'm with my friends , immediately I sight her I'll just exit from their circle and go sit in the class , I become simp lol

That said, if you left secondary school in the 90s, you will realize they treat SS3 duck ups publicly to send a message to the junior students. While we were treated with dignity due to the challenges of crossing the SS2 to SS3 hurdle, we were never spared either.

I think going back to those days were there was no promotion on trial in Ss2 and people had to learn to read will do our education some good.

I remember when he sold us his text book, failure to buy the book nah gobe......and whenever he comes to mark register if u skip school for one day nah two strokes and as an hustler trying to pay for my tuition fee base on no malee and palee to pay my G got me hooked up with one lebral job and it will take me 3weeks to finish but the pay gara booom!!! Naso i venture in do the work collect my rabah resume to school the fourth week naso mr ayodele enter class look around and started calling names. When he reach my turn so so so temmytope i responded sir...see shout yeeeeee!!!!! Ose metta( three weeks) come outside here he ask two of my class mate to escolt me incase i wan bolt, Chaiii me self know say today nah die all the girls just dey pity me...the man called all other names then started beating the few offenders before my turn. Then he asked one person to go to staff office to bring new cane for him oh lawd of shango I was just standing calmly cuz I know am guilty as charged when the boy arrived he collected the cane move closer to me and hold my knicker by the hem making sure it tight me and started arranging the cane on my bumbum 30 strokes damnnn!!!!! Although he released me, I vowed to pay him back when I should grow up no matter how long.

JSS1, I was only nine years old and to make things worse I looked about seven.
I didn't do my maths assignment because I hated maths. To make things worse, more than half the class didn't do theirs so I our teacher was angry. He told us to stand up and be coming out one by one to receive 10 strokes of the cane each, on our bums.

My classmates were already shaking, some had already started crying and the cane had not even touched them . It was at this point we knew that we were no longer in primary school.

It got to my turn, the man shouted, "Lie down on this table!" He started flogging, one, two, three, four, five. He paused, looked at me. I was not shaking, I was not crying. He continued, six, seven, eight, nine, ten. I got up and calmly walked to my seat. The teacher was shocked, he said, "This small girl you get mind oo."

At least one good thing came out of it because after that day, my rep in class increased.

Left secondary school 96' them yes punishment for seniors na falling hand but flogging.. I left ICC public school for a private school where i finished in 96. For ICC u nor go bold flog seniors. School when boys done mature dey involve for everything naim u as a teacher one flog? Na only principal then fit disgrace u anyhow for assembly not teacher. The same Englishmen brought flogging to Nigeria. I can prove that flogging wasn't introduced to Nigeria's education but rather flogging was an essential part of it. The culture of flogging is deep rooted to the very beginning of formal education in Africa and it will take more than the usual "'England people' don't beat their children" sentiment to abort the flogging culture.

Anyways I think of myself as being receptive enough to champion the "no flogging" campaign if parents are willing to take responsibilities.
You can't just drop a bad cultured irresponsible ward in school and expect teachers to perform magic.
Parents need to do more.
