But if the coach is not good no matter the ingredients the meal with leave a sour taste.


The case of Nigeria's coach comes to mind.

With 3 recent games the results have left everyone bewildered.

To Senegal it was 1 - 0

Algeria 1- 1


And now Sierra Leone 4 - 4


This team can't keep a clean sheet


Technically we have not seen much input..

But this coach has helped us win 3rd place at AFCON That NFF selling point.

By reaching 3rd place at AFCON we have reached our peak under Rohr. If we continue it gets worse. Spurs reached CL final under Pochettino and still sacked him when things went bad despite how popular he was. Rohr has done his best,he lacks the mentality to lead the team. ROHR OUT

Rohr has lost it.

He should be relieved of the duty.

But the NFF may not relieve Gernot Rohr cos they benefit from the shady deal presented to Rohr and have some influences on his player selection

Nigeria will never give an indigenous coach a fraction of the leeway they give these third rate oyibo coaches. Inferiority complex is ingrained into out psyche.

Look at Algeria. When Rohr came first then we had victor Moses. We demolished them home and away


But the sack third coach... And in less than two year their team won the AFCON and we can't stand then


But Nigeria is rather on r retrogression


1 no first team

2 each game new set of players been experimented

3 no clear cut playing pattern

4 no tactical input in the team

We are still an average team. If we're that good, why haven't they won anything since 2013 ..

We can't win all the time , its just a draw .

Wasn't it Liverpool Aston villa hammer this season , did u see Kloppout ?

The defense was just not there . WE NEED GOOD DEFENDERS and a better strategy . Italy play with a 3 man defense and it goes well for them

Nigerians are bunch of ingrates. This guy has tried. Before now, we find it difficult to qualify for ordinary nation cup but he came and qualified us easily to world cup.

He took us to third position in nation cup with seven of our players injured.

His tactics is wonderful. Do not forget the players are relatively young. He is building a team for the future.


My problem with him is that you do not try young goalkeeper. You may experiment with a 16yr old attacker but not defender.

Chelsea made a mistake selling Cech for Curtois. They bought another young coach Arinze Abalaga and he flopped. Even 30 yr old Cabelero was better. It was not till they bought 28 yr old Mendy that Chelsea had balance.

Rohr first tried Uzoho and then Akpeyi. There are better experiencd goal keeper in Nigeria league but they are above 25years. Rohr is looking at under 25. Uzoho could have saved Messi goal at world cup. Akpeyi could have done better in Mahrez goal. Maduka concerned four mot- difficult goals.

Use young squad but experienced backline.
