Hey good evening guys. Submitted my passport last week Tuesday and when I called VFS this week, they said it was still at IRCC. I requested for the travel exemption letter and quarantine plan from my school after filling the travel request form and they told me to book my flight in the next three days and send them the details as they have tentatively reserved a space for me already and would need to confirm my traveling before finalizing the required documents. So my question is, is it wise to book my flight despite my application status not changing to Approved or not receiving the counterfoil and intro letter yet? |

You,ve been approved already. But just relax. Allow a space one one week. Remember, you also need to travel with some CAD in cash. You need to request for this from your bank. I haven't done this before sha. BTA is for business trips. There is a provision for students. I also don't know how long it takes for the bank to approve such amount of CAD, e.g $4,000CAD. So, this should also be considered before booking flight. Login to your CIC account. Check your dashboard. The final comment says Approved. Kindly verify. I think it is for all Passport request holders sha. NOTE: In my case, this Approval reflected in FINAL DECISION box, even before I received the confirmation Approval from CIC, on Tuesday Kimkalash: 1 Like |

My GCMS dropped this night and I am a bit confused of the highlighted. Do they mean I might be scheduled for an interview or is it a generic message before approval is being effected? Also I have attached my application profile...FYI, I already deferred my class to Fall 2021 as my program only starts in Sept.

Hello guys, I need you thoughts on this if you have ever experience it. Its a case of an applicants pursuing student visa for two universities at different countries ( U.S and Canada) simultaneously same courses and almost same course duration. But Canada is the applicants preferred choice/destination. If the U.S student visa was approved on time and passport stamped already and then later the Canadian visa becomes sucessful and IRCC requested for the applicants passport to be stamped. Questions: 1)Will the passport be rejected at the Canadian VAC, 2) if the Canada stamps the passport, at the Canadian /u.s border will questions arise and will applicant be sent back home. Please share any similar experience. Thanks 1 Like |

For Canada, you will get a visitor visa stamped on your passport and then given a letter that’ll be presented to the Border Officer at the airport in Canada who will issue the study permit. The two processes are mutually exclusive; not linked at all. It is until you arrive in Canada that you effectively have a student visa. You can take your passport with US visa stamp to the Canadian High commission and they will stamp their own visa as well without any issues. I hope this answers your question except you are talking about something else entirely. Dudun007: |

BlegendE: I don't think you can get CAD from Nigeria. I think it's USD that can be gotten from banks. One can request for PTA(personal travel allowance) and you're entitled to a maximum of 4,000 USD. |

Hello ericksen, The “interview required” might be for another visa officer to look through. Not for you. Your application looks very positive. Start packing your bags ericksen: |

It’s wise to wait for your intro letter to drop and your passport returned. Kimkalash: 1 Like |

Yes it says Approved on the final decision. I hope application status changes to approved by next week. Are you saying a minimum of 4k CAD cash is needed to take there? If not, how much? The reason I thought it would make sense to book is because the spaces for quarantine might be limited and bombarded cause it's relatively affordable (560 for housing plus food for the two weeks) Kindly advise further please BlegendE: |

Lekiboboe: No visa officer will grant a study permit application to a qualified lawyer to undertake any of these programs you listed above. Let him do Masters program in Nigeria to improve on his 2:2 and then apply for an LLM in Canada. 1 Like |

Does anyone know how this works? Cos I'm planning to declare my first degree in the Visa application to be able to cover the study gap . |

I'm sorry to say but your application doesn't show any progression in career and chances of approval might be slim. You could give it a trial tho but it's not advisable. I was once a victim too as one fake instagram agent decieved me. All the best tho

|

Japh11: Good Morning. Please did you pay the 12k to VFS aside the 2-way courier cost? or can you just break the process down from how you submitted your passport to how you are getting it (transmission to you). Reason is that an officer at the Lagos VAC told me yesterday that we’d still need to pay the 12k notwithstanding the 2-way courier payment already made to DHL in my case. Just confused. Thank you. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Japh11: 8:30am On Nov 14, 2020 |
I didn't pay the 12k, I only paid for two way courier. I'm still expecting the package. |

1st you need to be sure that the cheaper course you want to select aligns with your education/career background and it represents a career progression. 2ndly, You would likely be asked to apply afresh for the new course. All in all, mail them explaining your intentions, they will guide you accordingly Sharonyeah: |

I had similar experience at FCMB, my account officer didnt know about it.Customer care said they have not started but based on available info, i knew the mybankstatement service has started. I called the hq customer service and it was done for me on phone. But for GTBank and others, u can seemlessly generate it from mobile app.In summary, call you bank customer care line and be ready with info about the period of time that the bank statement should cover. It shall end in praise! 1oak: |
