JezCalMeJay: This conversation is supposed to be in US Visit Visa Thread and not at Point of Entry Thread. You'd get more responses there. I honestly think when the US in Nigeria resumes visiting visa interviews, it will be announced. There has been no announcement to that effect on their website or social media. Your Visa Fees is valid for a long time so no cause for alarm. I think a year or more. All things being equal, the crises worldwide would have been over and things would have reset back to normal ways |

fkj950ax: Permit me to quick ask this here now that I saw something related to my concerns. What of those that their MRV receipts expired due to the closure of embassy to non-immigrant visa interviews? Any hope of reactivation as it was beyond one's control that the MRV receipt expired in the course of the closure of embassies. Thank you. 2 Likes |

Hello everyone, A cousin of mine married to a US citizen, who also has a child for him, would like to visit his family in the US. He currently does not intend to relocate to the US now because of his businesses in Nigeria that he handles, thus he decided to apply for the B2 visa. However, the earliest date that he booked is Mar 21 2020 but he would like to request an emergency date to visit his family on or before Christmas ideally. He has never done this before, what are good and proven emergency request reasons for the visiting visa? |

Hello everyone, please I intend apply to a college in the US and one of the criteria is attested or official testimonial. Can NECO original certificate be used for this? Am a bit nervous also as to whether there are specific ages from the consulate for applying as a college student. |

Neeta02: The menu was poor. Too many bread/flour-based meals. Everything else was fine. Boarding at Lagos was quick and fast. I downloaded the app and checked in, selected my seats before getting to the airport. Istanbul was 2 hours wait time before boarding for NY. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Re: U.S Visit: Port Of Entry Interview/stories. by fkj950ax(m): 10:55pm On Nov 15, 2020 |
Neeta02: Nobody asked for COVID Test. We were given a NY Health Card before landing at JFK. Submitted the card after CBP clearance. You have to quarantine for 2 weeks, but on the 4th day, if you do a test and it's negative, you can stop quarantine. This is NY. Different across other States. 2 Likes |

Turkish Airline Abj-Instabul-Atlanta. Flight from Abuja was uneventful, there was no meal just bread and cake twice. Layover was 9hrs40mins at Instabul and I had the choice of going site seeing or free hotel room, I choose the hotel and was given a double room sef. Managed to get proper meal for free of course at the beautiful hotel we were put in, with an amazing view. I will try and attach pictures. Flight to Atlanta was for 3.50pm and we checked out at 12pm, took about 30 minutes to get to the airport. Passport control etc took less than 30 minutes. Hot to the miles and smiles lounge, ate some more proper meals done a la carte. Finally boarded Instanbul to Atlanta and spent 12 draining and tiresome hours on the plane eith two different bread meals, pretty appaling. Got to Atlanta at 19.47 and my poe went thus: Where would you be staying.... How long would you be here for? Me: 16 days Are you carrying any food? Me: None He stamped and then said "let's confirm that shall we? Las las they took me to get my bag which was already out. I opened it and they saw no food. However, they saw my vitamins etc but didn't make any fuss. All in all I spent less than 15 minutes at passport control and the agriculture check so it was pretty fast. Thank you all for all your contributions and answering our questions. 13 Likes

Interesting thread this is. Just came across this thread and tot I'd share my experience. Though it's not recent but still hurts till this day. Got my B1/B2 visa on my birthday 2016, that was my first attempt and got it with my family. We booked our fligh for December that year with Qutar Airways. Journey for Nigeria to Doha was very smooth kids were very excited as that was thier first time on an Airplane . Upon arriving at Doha, we proceeded to Check in for our flight to NY yhyas when the whole thing started. We were stopped by the US Border Control officer on ground and he requested he's like to ask is fee questions. We were stopped alongside another passenger (a woman with 4 children ). He asked the reason for our trip mad virtually same questions we were asked during our interview in Lagos which hubby was able to answer . He was satisfied and let us proceed with the journey while the other passenger was returned to Nigeria with her children (☹️ so sad). Flight from Doha to New York was a bit long and tiring but alas we arrived safely and the story changed totally from that point on. My passport and that of my kids (2) had been stamped . We were admitted to the US , he was about stamping hubby's passport when he paused and asked her like us to step in to the oza room for questioning |

@qhunlay the concluding part....... We were ushered into the oza room, I sat with my kids while hubby was being questioned for well over 10mins I would say. Immediately he got up, I was ushered by the cbp officer to come for questioning. The first question he asked was if I have a friend in Baltimore Maryland (yeah I do have a friend and she's aware of my travel itenary). I wasn't sure if he'd asked hubby and did not want to lie so I told him yeah I do, asked if we were going to her place, asked about her immigration status(she was there via spousal visa) I gave all answers to the best of my knowledge and sincerity. He then requested for my phone to get her number. I gladly did cos I was sure my phone was clean. Few minutes later, he called me into another room this time he told me he was typing the transcript of all our conversation. Told me my friend had given a different account of our trip. She told him we were coming to her place( mind you we were not, we were heading to Florida) and spending 3 weeks at her place , she also told him she's been trying to get us an apartment that once we leave her place we would settle into our new place. That was the straw that broke the camel's back. I made it clear to him she was lieing and he asked me "why would she like" I was dumbfounded. There was nothing we could say to convince them otherwise. They drilled and drilled for over 10hours, threatened we would be put in jail for lieng to a US Federal officer bla bla bla, one of them even called my hubby aside and suggested we seek asylum which I told him " Perish that idea fast". At the end of the day , they concluded they were not convinced enuf that we were genuine tourist, hence they would have to put us on the next flight to Nigeria. My lil girl even tried convincing him we came for holiday. In her words " my mum is not lieng, we came for holiday" ( this brought tears to my eyes) but tah it fell on deaf ears. He was hell bent in sending us back. That's how I found myself back in Nigeria after more than 4 days being airborne. It was indeed a sad experience but I'm grateful to still be alive. Talisha2018: That was so sad... Did you later found out from your friend why she lied? Are you sure they actually contacted your friend or they just cooked the story up? I like the part where you turned down the asylum offer, it was really a trap. I pray that God Almighty will make a way for you again and it will end in praise. 2 Likes |
