So APC has promised him that presidency will be zoned to south east? If he believes that then he is a fool
even if APC didn't promise him. Their body language indicates it'll be be free for all candidates in the primaries and no preferred candidate.

In PDP every mouse within the party knows it's assured for Atiku.

Ebonyi can never win PDP governorship if he defects. At best PDP will win about 6 or 7 state house of assembly positions. One or two house of Reps but that will be all. Ebonyi politics is always heavily influenced by the sitting governor.
And Martin Elechi couldn't influence Onyebuchi Chukwu to succeed him?

If any Igbo man want to become president of Nigeria, he would have been preparing at least five years ahead, overnight changing of party can not save Umahi, a governor that have not reached length and breath of Nigeria, who doesn't control influence even in southeast, want to become president.

Na so it is easy?

Five years sef small. Any Igbo man that wants presidency must be preparing for at least 10 years. If he is heading to APC to be President, he should wait till 2039. After Yoruba rule 8 years, that is 2031, then Hausa man for another 8 years, that is 2039, then maybe them go remember am for 2039

That is the problem with the Igbos, they hate each other with passion. Even though I dislike this Umahi's move but his own fellow tribesmen in APC are already laying dangerous obstacles for him in APC.
Meanwhile, the other tribe they always tackle are United in their quest. No other Yoruba man or woman has shown real interest in the presidency since when it was rumoured that Tinubu will contest but that wont happen in Igbo land because even lizards and rats will rise up to contest the moment any party indicates that it will zone the presidency to the South east.

I have never seen a people so dis-United like this. They always use other tribes to unite like they did in Oyigbo, Rivers state recently. Go to the North or West it's same story but yet they have deepest hatred amongst themselves.

Tufiakwa Unu!!
Just like Umahi's political move, your sense is hanging too. Mpama!

Umahi is a coward, does he think he will just become a president on a platter of gold without fighting for it like the way he became a governor? He was made governor by GEJ courtesy of PIus Ayim and Sam Egwu against the wish of the seating governor then, Martin Elechi and he thinks the same thing will happen for his dead on arrival presidential ambition? So to his imagination, APC will leave people like Orji Kanu, and Okorocha; and made him their presidential or VP candidates? Wish him good luck

It only goes to show that we have no principled politicians in our politiks. All these elected politicians crossing from one party to the other clearly amplified the word PRINCIPLE in this context. While it benefits the receiving party of these unprincipled politicians, the power that be must put a stop to these primary school children behavior of our elected leaders.
The parties will also stop these behaviors by refusing platform for any defecting politicians especially those already elected. Defection should be before being elected. The country should discourage this childish behavior of our politicians.

Umahi's predecessor never supported him yet he won
Even with the defection, it will be a herculean task to take Ebonyi away from PDP.
