Its mainly in the East that there is feed scarcity
East, west and south-south...

Shortage of feeds, lack of raw-materials...

Soya bean precisely.

My Oga, frustrating is an understatement. Over here, people just buy what is available whether na finisher, grower or layers, we just buy am. It's not been easy at all.
As for me, I don port to different options as means of feeding them; from using Brewer's waste (spent grains), cerelac, PKC, dried pap waste etc.

Cerelac ke? grin Have they turned to babies? shocked. Won't the elderly chickens be angry that you are giving them baby food? cheesy
Re: Xmas Broiler Broading In Pictures by Redomi(m): 9:39pm On Nov 15, 2020
I open one sachet of Tetracycline capsules to four litres of water and I add two tablet of Flagyl, that's what I give in the morning.

In the afternoon, I blend bitter leaves and scent leaves for them.

In the night, I switched off the light from feed for three hours, filled their feeders I darkness. After 3 hours I switched on the light, they will all rush the food, I will wait for them to eat for 30 minutes and drink, I switched it off again and come back in 3hours time to do same.
Do those thing for two days and come back and give me the result.

Hehehe...
Yes o. Cerelac meant for my pigs is being diverted for chickens.
You don't have a clue what it means looking for feeds to buy without getting any. I really pitied the newbies who ventured into broilers this period around; from high prices of DOC, rising prices of feeds to unavailability, even prices of drugs ain't spared (thank God for we organic advocates). God bless all our hustles.

I noticed something, on Thursday after giving my 8 days old birds lasota vaccine, I realized that once of them was walking on one leg and crawling on the other, after attending to them this night I decided to spend more time again with them it's like that one leg is paralyzed, the bird can't stand on the leg at all but tends to spread the leg and crawls with the other leg and chest. Could this be the vaccine or the weight of the bird because she is the biggest among them.

And what can I do to help her stand back on the leg.

Good evening house.......

The feed scarcity is everywhere boss. Matured birds are fed on whatsoever that is available, Starter, Grower or Finisher. We still hoping it will be better someday

Truth be told, feed is not scarce here in Ondo. There are so many types of feeds, but the price is on the higher side.
Xmass price is going to be determined by demand, lots of people in the street reared bird too

What do you notice.poop color, are the birds active.are they eating ,what is the behaviour now that contrasts with their previous behaviour.

Thing is, I've always been feeding them top starter, but someone said I should switch to grower which I did last two weeks, due to scarcity of feed and it's rising price, I had to mix the feed with pkc, hence their poo became darker and sort of sandy. They're active though but I noticed they don't eat it with much enthuasism as they do before.
This past 3days, I went back to feeding them top grower mash without missing to see if their will be changes, but it's not easy feeding just that considering how much they consume and price of feed, so far, their poop is back to normal, though some still stool watery poo
Someone recommended I get them fast growth to boost them, another person said boosters isn't good for them.
I just don't know how to remedy the situation

Are they broilers? If Yes, do away with the growers and start feeding them finisher ASAP.
Multivitamins will do just fine.

Best of luck.

Make I showcase my free range broilers. It's been a beautiful experience.
(Arbor acre plus)

Note: I wouldn't advice any to try it though.
They are looking good.
But why are you advising us not to try it?

5 weeks, can I say they are on free range too? Since they werecthreecweeks old, I release them every morning from their cage, and take them back to the cage every evening.
I dont know how to calculate average weight, I dont know mathematics.
Some are 2.7kg, while the least among them is 2.2kg

Yes they are looking good, but, I wouldn't advice it. Like I clearly pointed out, raising these sets of broilers free range negatively affected their overall weights. For their age, I know what I should be recording in terms of weights.

Likewise, you need lots of grazing lands for them to move around which I believe most don't have.
It was just a pilot project for me to see how well I can raise them almost organically.

Nevertheless, I must confess the meat quality, taste, and texture of the few killed was much better and ofcos, sweeter (then again, how many people care about this?).

Oga Jidestroud, here are the foreign turkey at 5weeks old. They are too aggressive, I have to remove my laying Noilers from the cage I kept all of them, they almost killed one of the Noilers yesterday. Same with the Agrited broilers I bought with them same time, they are born fighters. I have separated them and I kept them with my 5 month old local turkeys.

Bought from Noeloge82 on October 6th

What Organic or Natural can I go or use instead of Gomboro Vaccine for my 15 day olds birds, and how do I administer it.

They are just 29 birds and getting 100 dose is just waste of money and vaccines.

.
Oh, sorry for failing to update you.
I stopped using New hope feed, yet they keep dying.
The day I stopped using Amo 3 birds die, taking the total mortality to 6. I was pained seriously, I sat down and thought was could cause it if it is not feed, and my cage was net all around.
Now I figure out something, from DOC day, I used to take them out every afternoon because the sun is always very hot here, and I noticed they started dying and poo changed the days I put them inside the cage.
I said to myself, let me continue with the semi free range to see if things will change. Walahi, everything stopped, I can see the joy in them when I carry them out and put them on the floor, they will run and clap their wing, even though it is not easy for them to run.
But sincerely, I didn't use any drugs, their poo turned normal and no mortality for about 4 days now and no sign of sickness.
Their feed intake has greatly increased.
